Who is AOC really? Interesting!

Confuses the hell out of me considering how prominent and heartfelt the NEVER AGAIN bullshit was when i was growing up, that any Jew could support gun control or socialist bs.

Seems like some are getting the message.

It is not my place to speak on behalf of Jews, so if we have some in residence please speak up.

As stated already, the Jewish vote is hardly a neatly packaged block. The topic of 2A is a matter of great debate among Jews and I have been fortunate to be involved in some of those discussions. For those that fall on the wrong side of it I see two main lines of retreat from reality: the belief that intelligent and well-intended legislation will save all from mankind's worst, and religious doctrine.

Mishna, Shabbat 6:4

A man should not go out on Shabbat-- Not with a sword, or a bow, or a shield, or a mace or a spear. And if he did, he is liable for a sin offering.

R. Eliezer says:
They are an adornment for him.

But the Sages say: They are but a disgrace. For the verse states (Isaiah 2:4) They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.

The Sages were not so terribly sage, were they?

I have been confused by the American Jews for years given what their ancestors have been through and still it seems like most are left why? Even in Israel where they are in the crosshairs of everyone in the region still they have leftist in large numbers. I believe they tried gun control (didn't work). I was friends with a Jewish family when I was young (a long time ago) that conversation never happened I wish it did. Still they were good people never gave me any reason to believe we had a political difference.

I've been to Dachau and saw firsthand what happens to a disarmed people. The image of ashes in those ovens has stayed with me for over 30 years. Later generations can read about it and look at pictures, but it's just a story to them unless they see it in person.

Socialism has always promised something for nothing and that is what appeals to the darker side of human nature. Religious beliefs tend to take a backseat when the promise seems to be popular and the ignorant can't see the harm.

Oh kiddo. Didn't anyone tell you? You can't just start pulling off Clinton Foundation smackdown money moves like that! Especially while pissing off, and shining spotlights, on the people who bought your ticket to the party.

Ah this impetuous generation. Their sense of instant gratification and entitlement will surely be their undoing.

Such a thing can only be achieved after Ebola Type X or the Andromeda Strain blazes across the world and wipes every last human being from the face of the earth.

The folks who wish for "world peace" suffers from similar delusions and simply do not understand the nature of human civilization. As long as living things exist, there will be conflict and competition. Jealousy and envy. Warfare on the national / tribal level and aggression / retaliation on the personal level.

The only way to maintain a level close to peace is by having superior firepower. An armed society is a polite society. No one will be stupid enough to start shit with someone else when weapons are common and many people carry them.
