I guess, you just don't understand my thinking. It's WHEN it starts to leave the "commune", is when the problems start. MacThere’s no room for a group of people living and working peacefully on their commune?

No, I understand perfectly and I agree with that. I’m sure we also agree on measures to be taken if they start being aggressive to other residents in their respective areas. Where it seems we disagree is before that starts to happen.I guess, you just don't understand my thinking. It's WHEN it starts to leave the "commune", is when the problems start. Mac
You do realize, I was referring to the "commieizm" part of this conversation.No, I understand perfectly and I agree with that. I understand being skeptical and even arguing against a group of people wanting to start a new commune near you. But if they do get it started, do you;
a) act openly hostile to them right away
b) avoid and ignore them as much as possible
c) proceed cautiously optimistic and at least act cordially towards them when you do interact
d) start making plans to move right away
I don’t know enough about real world examples to say definitively how I would react so I’d probably say C right now. I just know it’s really difficult to keep a commune running long term for obvious reasons. If any of them start losing members to local politics and turning the area to shit I would definitely put up a pretty hard fight before they even got off the ground but that’s something I’d need to look into and worry about if it ever happens near me
Yes, collectivism, of any form, being pushed by the force of the state needs to be fought anywhere and everywhere. I’m pretty sure you know my thoughts about this as wellYou do realize, I was referring to the "commieizm" part of this conversation.
I have no problem with communes, and people doing their "thing".
I treat all people with respect, and try to keep an open mind to most things around me. But, when it comes to "commieizm", I've got no use for it in my Country. I would think, I would have a lot of Patriots that feel the same way, and be on my side. Mac
The Gun Owners of America puts this interview in proper historical context.
I’m not saying you guys are wrong. But you run the risk of becoming the thing you hate. People living their own lives and not hurting others deserve to be left alone, no matter how different they live.
When I run into a budding Communist, I always ask them what seems appealing about 7 16 hour work days in a row every week?Didn’t Bernie come from a commune? Got kicked out because he never worked and sat around talking about politics?

White House to withdraw controversial ATF nominee David Chipman
Chipman's defeat marks the second time President Biden has been forced to withdraw a major nomineewww.foxnews.com

I'm not sure they thought he had a chance to get approved. I think his nomination was to distract from other things. Look for a move on braces next. The Obama WH needs a victory on something. This is good news. Now if they could just dissolve the entire atf
That was exactly my thought too.Have to wonder if he was just the smoke screen to get the smart, crafty SOB with no baggage they really want to slide right through.
David Chipman was one of the murderers at Waco. Yes, they intentionally set out to kill those people as a publicity stunt.
The BATF obtained a warrant based party on complaints of David Koresh having sex with underage girls. The BATF has no child endangerment function, no reason to even try and investigate this.
The BATF knew for a 100% certainty that nearly EVERY DAY David Koresh drove into town to get the mail and regularly stopped at a nearby store for ice cream. To arrest him did not require a raid.
Another claim of the BATF was that, "they had reports of machine gun fire on the property". It was used for obtaining the warrant. They FORGOT TO MENTION, that there was a licensed class III gun dealer on the property. Making this point moot.
FBI and BATF "snipers" fired on anyone trying to leave the BURNING building, including women and children. There is actual satellite footage of it and you can clearly see dozens of muzzle flashes from concealed positions. The FBI later claimed the "muzzle flashes" were simply the sun glinting off the barrels of rifles. The Texas Rangers at the scene recovered something like 70 pieces of spent brass from the location where the "sun was glinting" off the barrel of Lon Horiuchi's gun barrel.
The BATF notified every local news station of the pending raid more than two hours before the raid to insure they had media coverage. In their excitement to be rewarded for the stupid raid, they forgot to ask the media to keep it a secret. Several news stations contacted David Koresh for a statement on the pending raid. The Davidians had advance notice of the raid.
The BATF actually killed most of their own people. They can be clearly scene shooting their own men to death on the second floor.
This man is exactly what I have mentioned several times. He does not care about the law only enforcing the law. The day they make it legal for him to murder Americans and seize their property, he will don his swastika armband and get to killing Americans with glee. He is a socialist lackey.
Years ago at a gun show a guy was selling copies of the warrant, post fire investigation reports from the Texas Dept of Public Safety and their probable cause affidavits. It was $3 bucks to cover the printing, so I bought them and read them while watching my buddies table. It was eye opening.
It may have been, it was not long after the event. How weird would that have been? That guy selling the copies of the warrant et/al might have been Timothy McVeigh if it was long ago enough.
Some names are not worth speaking, same way I never capitalize the c in china, it purely out of Disrespect
