Who likes Goodyear tires?

Just one more "wedge" to divide American's........ Seems we get a new box of wedges every day.... I think American's are more divided not than during the Civil War.... At least then there was only two choices.... Today the choices (propaganda) are infinite.

Sidewalls are way too stiff for controlled hard braking performance, alternately too stiff for decent ride comfort or bad weather performance. They can cut down your corner entry times but at the cost of steering authority. Really requires a sterile driving line to get the most out of, and if you're on a full track good fucking luck. I've always been a Continental or Pirelli fan.

F Goodyear. That said, what really happened here? For the office in Akron to deny it (almost completely), yet is the slide real?
Some local f-stick in the Kansas City HR Dept?

I've avoided Goodyear based on quality issues for a long time. My daughter recently purchased a new car with Goodyears and had issues as well. I prefer US manufacturing and US ownership but if the product is inferior I'm moving on. Gave up on Goodrich as well after repeated, consistently shitty K02s.

I've run a couple sets of Falkens on the cruiser and am very happy with them. Pirellis for the cars.

I notified our Chief on this.
He has reached out to them for an explanation, but he is looking for other options.
Our problem is, the Agency purchase price of the GY's is nearly impossible to beat, and funding is hard to come by.

I don't really care what a private/publicly traded company's policies are, however, I vote everyday with my dollars and my feet. Don't run Goodyear tires and now never will. What does suck, they make a pretty good water hose. Doesn't kink too bad, lasts a long time...oh well.

I was done with those loosers when a set of new GST614 trailer tires did $6k of damage to one of my trailers. SHIT tires shit company. Lots of Coopers and Hankooks around here now.

They may specialize in one dropped rifles but the French meke the best tires around.

I run Cooper and Toyo. The sad thing is I've never found an American tire that competes with the m55 on traction, treadwear, and toughness. They are freaking heavy though, lots of steel.

Same here. Toyo on the F250 and Cooper ST Maxx on the SUV. Really loving the Coopers. Crazy good off road for how well mannered they are on-road. Also not bad at all in snow.

Goodyear tires have been mediocre for years with a couple extreme high performance models being the exception IMO.

For extreme performance to high mileage interstate tires Michelin's performance is hard to beat. I don't like supporting the French, at all, but their tires flat work. Performance motorcycles on the street and track, off road motorcycle in technical desert or extreme woods single track, the Pilot Sport A/S 3+'s on my Subaru Sti grip like nothing else on 40* wet roads with 362lbft of torque to the wheels at 3,400rpm. For dry climates the Pilot Sport and Cup 2 tires work well on road and the track. Bridgestone and Pirelli are my other go to brands...... and Hoosier A7 & R7's of course. :sneaky:

Sent them an email earlier laughing at them for their retarded bullshit.

I'm sure whoever the clown was with that 'inclusion' slide, is primarily there due to 'inclusion' and not aptitude.

No more Goodyear for me, ever. Way to fuck up your chances with 1 stupid thing that now has you boycotted for decades to come; just like that Chik Fil A muppet.

Goodyear corporate says they did not approve or create that policy, probably some SJW who made the slides put that in without anyone knowledge. hopefully they get fired

There needs to be an overtly public denouncment of this and policies like it, or I'm calling bullshit.

Saying 'we didn't do this' without it, is like Hillary's emails and blaming it on some random midlevel person.

There's better tires out there. Look at what Cooper, Nitto, and Toyo have to offer.
I've looked at Cooper's awhile back, SST's or something like that. I've had DuraTrac's on two jeeps and they came stock on my ZR2. Love em in the Wisc. winters and I've got 48k on the ones on my ZR2 now and they've got about 48% of their tread left. Also, on my two Wranglers, I got over 40k on both sets. So for lugged type tread, they last pretty well. ymmv. Mac(y)

For mud you can't beat the Toyo MT unless you give up street manners.

For winter, buy a real snow tire. If you insist on a/t's, the Toyo a/t3 is severe service rated. Brand new though, so you won't find reviews yet.

I have a set of duratracs on my tacoma. I was around 60k when I messed up a sidewall and Discount Tire replaced a pair of them. I'm at 70k on my fronts now and rears are like new. I did go E rated since I tow my boat a lot and didn't care for the sidewall flex with C rated tires.

Guess I'll start looking for a different tire. My wife's BFG A/T 2's are pretty wore and getting a few chunks missing at 20k miles (not happy at all). My first set of Toyo m/t's lasted around 60k miles, and I replaced them with the same tire, which was now reformulated with a softer compound, and only got 15k out of them.

I agree

Being that I work and have worked in large corporate entities as a senior person for years, I can easily see some fucktard in charge of diversity training putting that slide together and presenting it without management approval. There are far fewer review cycles in softer non-engineering areas. No one would even catch it.

If the company comes out with a strong and compelling statement, I can give them the benefit of the doubt. I don't use their products anyways and would have less reason to if they don't act.

I had to think about this when I saw the news today, but I have had a set of Goodyear tires on a vehicle since 1979. They were OEM’s on a Ford Mustang. Hated them, replaced with only 10k on them. Ever since, I’ve just bought good tires on ratings and performance. Good Year never made the cut. Surely won’t now.

That was pretty overt!

They are getting destroyed on Wall St and in social media.

Maybe they are the ‘example’ that will teach other companies to stick to their products and let their woke bs stay out of their workplace.
