I have a .30 cal barrel that I bought about 10 years ago off another shooting website . I was told it's a Krieger barrel but there's no Krieger stamp on it.
One friend said it might be before they started putting their name on it.
Do you guys have any thoughts on who made the barrel? Any info would be appreciated.
Specs:
29" long
28 1/2" to the cut at the muzzle end
2 1/4" shank
1.270" at the breech
1.250" past the shank
.880" at the muzzle

298 308
5R

19590
C30

The machining is telling you where to cut it off after lapping. What I can tell you is that's it's a tight bore probably accurate but you'll never get top speed without pressure. I sold mine because I need 2 severely different loads for 2 rifles.

I was going to say if it's an old barrel, it might be an Obermeyer barrel or maybe a Rock Creek barrel. I've got an Obermeyer 5R barrel on a match tuned Garand that's about 25 years old. I've got a Rock Creek 5R barrel on a GA Precision rifle that's 20 years old.

Obermyer 2014 for reference

Cberndt,
Yes , the stamping does look the same.
Did your barrel have the cut by the muzzle and the dimple on the shank?
Thanks for the info.
