I'm basically looking for a 40x (rimfire) action, only centerfire. Mid lug and all.
Why?
Because I want to build some small gun stuff - suppressed 9mm, 20-5.7, etc. With those short rounds, using a standard front lug arrangement makes feeding a nightmare, as the short round has to 'jump' the lug chasm.
I'm aware of some of the 'alternative' ways that people have done this (and have a Rem 788 & Armscor TCM rifle). It really just sucks to give up the 700 ecosystem though when building stuff these days. Most of these alternative actions are usually kinda crude compared to modern custom productions.
What I really want is basically a Rim-X or Vudoo, only centerfire... does such a thing exist?
