Pretty much since the very beginning of the Catholic Church, the mainstream catholic church has always been about an unholy alliance between a self serving church elite and a self serving ruler elite to make sure both prosper well.

Attended Catholic schools and remember serving Mass as an altar boy when Mass was in Latin.
