Why all the defeatist attitude among gun owners? I keep hearing crap like be careful about what you buy because they could ban it all and come get it, blah blah. WTF? Has everyone lost their balls in this country? You all going to give up legally invested in property just because some morons in DC decided it should no longer be legal? Come on. And anyone thinking about a buyback, get real and grab your balls to make sure you still have some. Buybacks May offer $500 for gun. Maybe and there will be a set amount of funds in the program that once out, is it. They ain’t going to offer you shit. Everyone needs to encourage their fellow gun owners to man up. Don’t give up shit. I swear this country has become a bunch of freaking pansies.

I do not think a confiscation and/or buy back attempt will happen for a least a couple more presidential elections, but I believe the leftist agenda will eventually get us there with regards to AR15s and copycat weapons. They will most likely leave bolt action rifles and simple revolvers alone and call that 'good enough' out of ignorance.

So where/how can a concerned gun owner and 2A supporter make the most difference?

Run for office, donate to local orgs that are pro2A, donate to other pro2A orgs like the 2AF, GOA etc. educate as many people as you possibly can about the problems with what the leftist are putting down. Show them the figures they often tout are misleading, educate them on the CDC and FBI findings during the last AWB. The list goes on and on. The truth of the matter is, if everyone gives up arms what’s to stop them from literally taking anything else you own? You can also quit supporting leftists cash cows as a whole. We are all guilty of this. Netflix, amazon, google and so on are all cash cows that donate to the anti movement.

They are more focused than we are - plus we have "Fudds" on our side.

This is exactly the problem. Why is that exactly? We are always on the defensive when we should be on the offensive.

If it happens disobey in masses. I do not mean bury the rifles in your yard either. I mean drive to your police department with 100 guys and ask if the absurd laws will be enforced because us men are verifying who the enemy is. Next go the county sheriff departments. You will have your answer and can decide what is next then. It would have to be done this way or nothing will be done. Let’s hole it doesn’t come down to that.

This is my philosophy on life..........
I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.

SilentStalkr - I am not going to run for office, it is not something I would be good at.

As for the rest of what you noted, I already do all that. Still seem to be losing.

My experience with talking to leftist is that they don't want to listen. Once they find out I own a gun, I am nothing but an NRA shill telling them lies and they turn off any listening they might have had. I am not joking here, I have lost what I once thought to be friends over seemingly harmless gun control discussions.

The only people that will sometimes listen are people that are on the fence. In this area I have two friends that are moderate liberals that now (now as in the last 3 years) own plenty of guns and shoot regularly, all due to me introducing them to the sport and teaching them anything they wanted to know as unbiased as I could. I am still not sure one of them would vote the right way for the next president, but he will think about it a lot more now.

I am more than willing to help folks with an open mind see that shooting is a sport that is fun and challenging, AS WELL AS, being a skill you can use to defend yourself if you live in a free state ;)

I hope they buy back my 80% lowers for $100 a pop. That's gonna be over 100% return on investment ???.

I kid, I kid. Nobody is getting any of my shit. Not ever. Last time a government tried to confiscate our weapons, a gentleman named Paul Revere gave warning and it was on like Donkey Kong.

I was JUST about to make a new thread when i came across this one.

SOME sort of gun legislation is going to happen real soon, and DJT is going to sign off on it. Allegedly 3 more mass shootings have been foiled this weekend. One in FL, one in MA, and one in OH. All sub 25 year old white males and all had AR15's high cap mags, and ammo. Some shit is about to happen. Its up to us to comply or not.

I just really don't like complying with bullshit regulations.

Most gun owners are cucks...pure and simple. Sure, I’ll own a gun but I won’t stand up for my rights....they are no better than anti gun scum. That is why the gun grabbers target AR platform weapons. They know most gun owners are cucks and have no problem with being sold on the idea that we don’t need those kind of weapons.

When you really come down to it. I would rather see these fucks burned with the rest of them

One thing I do is, turn it around on them. I know a guy that is heavy into racing and has a NSX as his daily driver. We got to talking about all this crap one day and he said nobody should have an AR cause they are so dangerous. I showed him stats on how often they were used in crime and then showed him stats on accidents. Asked which was greater. He got a little testy. Then I said, now hear me out, you like you little NSX but I could argue that it is much more dangerous than a regular car and that nobody should be allowed to own one of those as it is too much of a risk and that the government should outlaw them and confiscate you $130,000 prized possession. He got real upset then as he loves this car. Then I said, “oh yeah and they aren’t going to give you a dime for it, just gonna take it!” Pissed him off. He replied with, well we need cars. I said well I could argue that we don’t but let’s just say that I agree with you. Ok, we need cars, but you don’t need that car. All you need is to have something to get from point A to B, doesn’t have to look cool or go over 55mph. Needless to say, it won him over especially after I explained to him that if we let them take one of the most sacred rights this country has then there is literally nothing keeping them from forcibly taking anything else.

it isn't that i disagree that too many gun owners are complacent. you are likely correct on that.
but am i going to virtue signal like a fucking libtard and call most other gun owners pussies? no.

You need to take @armorpl8chikn advice and get out more. I don't virtue signal. Maybe go and talk to some gun owners and ask them about ownership of ARs. Ask good questions not easy ones. Maybe you should go teach a few youth classes and talk to the parents. Even there, you will not find resistance to ANY gun control. These people believe that they can agree to some control and come out whole. If you started contributing, you are likely to find out what I am saying is true. Most gun owners that I meet know shit and believe that if they wear a pro gun shirt, they are doing their part. They fire a gun maybe once or twice a year before hunting and call it good.

Fucking cucks pure and simple...sorry if that strikes close to home for you.

I have nothing more to say about it. I am going back to my cell now. I only have an hour a day on the internet

I agree 100%. Most gun folk I come into contact with are just like this... lack of a better phrase "Fuds". There's only a handful of my people I trust and we have productive conversations about politics, etc.

Historically, the same thing has played out. What percentage of people have actually stood up to tyranny? (Think American Revolution) Or, conversely, stood against freedom to cause tyranny? (The highly vocal Leftists?) How many just were present and not active? (Everyone else)

I'd say probably 5-10% total are actually active participants on both sides of any given cause. The other 90-95% of the population are just moving along.

i understand you are probably venting frustration.
i just don't perceive it as helpful to denigrate people that aren't even listening to you.
maybe if it makes you feel better to lash out at those slings and arrows, i should just leave you to it.

truth be told, i didn't own any "AR" type rifle until recently, although i have used them and owned other types of guns all my life.
i only bought the evil gun recently to protect my rights to own all the others.

You are lucky that he listened to you. I would consider that person more moderate then leftist. I can't get far enough to say anything past I own an AR15. Folks I have tried to have conversations with are that far left. If a person you are talking to does not shut you down in 2 seconds

and say something like YOU SUPPORT KILLING CHILDREN then you are not talking to the same sorts of people I am trying to talk to.

No one is saying there isn't a revival. There was a time in my life that I questioned the need for an AR15, but it was way way back. I personally know and have known several hundred gun owners and avid shooters, from all walks of life.

There are 37 different types of Fudd. That is what my research shows.

No one is denigerating. Just telling things like they are. No offense intended or implied, but if the gloves fit.....

I’ve ran into those people. I choose not to waste my time but if forced to engage I simply ask them why do they think their perceived rights trump mine? It usually results in an impasse. However, I leave with reminding them that my rights are protected under the BOR and that in all honesty my right to defend myself with whatever tool I deem necessary is a GOD given right and therefore cannot be taken away. Until they can prove otherwise, their perceived need of safety is just an opinion. It’s not set in stone. If they don’t like them that’s fine, I’m not asking them to own one, but I do ask them to respect my right to own one. If they cannot respect my rights the. I certainly am under no duty to respect theirs. Unfortunately, at some point there is going to be a battle unless we can all learn to respect each other’s rights as their own. I think we will all leave people alone as long as they leave us alone. If not, at the end of the day, conservatives are the ones with the most guns. You do the math.

    fair enough.
i never believed (until recently) that i needed one at home either. i had a hunting rifle, shotguns, handguns.
save some sort of SHTF or zombie invasion situation, having a rifle that cost a buck to shoot "for fun" wasn't in the plan.
so why did i buy one recently?
to protect my right to own the ones i have.
the semi-auto handguns i shoot most often is what kills most people in America. i have no delusions about them stopping at ARs.

    You make me laugh...

If you knew me you would know that I am far from frustrated and never lash out at anyone even though they are letting our side down. I live and let live.

I shoot a lot and donate my time teaching kids and adults at the clubs I belong. I know that the only way to wage this war is to get involved with adding responsible firearm enthusiasts that actually run their bolts versus their mouths.

A question was asked and much like anyone else, I provided my opinion. You took offense to it. You seem to be the only one and maybe there is a reason for that.

I wish you the best with your patient waiting. I hope you are right and it is a LONG wait.

Their is something about the quote above that just doesn't sound right...almost kinda of antifa in a way....just an observation.
    No pun intended.

I know this will probably sound strange, but I am really just trying to understand what happened to these leftists in their lives that brought them to such an extremist view. That is the #1 reason I engage the extreme leftist. So far I have come to a few different conclusions, and none of them are good. I do this to know and understand what I am up against. Most of them are anti gun as they believe MSM and leftist social media 100%. Sadly I am saying they can no longer think for themselves and just parrot phrases.

It appears to me that in most cases Eric Holder and his brainwashing campaign has worked

To paraphrase, say guns are bad, deliver a daily message in schools (I read that to mean target young people) that guns are bad, eventually people will believe it

That seems to be what has happened.

How do you combat that on a LARGE scale?

The leftists own the public schools, their ideas are being drilled into kids heads at a young age. That is what has to be stopped. We are raising generation after generation of people that are brainwashed with anti American ideals.... :(

being from california, i am used to being blamed of the apathy of gun owners.
unlike you, i am frustrated by the lack of political participation from gun owners and conservatives in general.
anyway, perhaps you don't consider calling "most gun owners" cucks as lashing out. i'll have to accept that.

Their is something about the quote above that just doesn't sound right...almost kinda of antifa in a way....just an observation.

what i meant is, the handguns i have are arguably used in more crimes. i have no delusions that those are "next" if they succeed at taking away the guns they call "evil".

if you think there is something anitfa about that, i can't help you.

Look here, fighting for freedom is the noblest thing a human can ever do. But today no one wants to die, we'll all do anything to see our grandkids, friends and family but when we die(we all will because death always wins) what kind of world would we be leaving behind. Myself inclusive. Democracy leaves a room for diplomacy and through diplomacy DC decides and everyone follows but they should be always a line. else the gov. will soon tell us what to eat or wear or even ban airplanes like one congresswoman has already mentioned.

I can't remember in my life time of any gun owner's rallying together like antifa, proud boys, lezbo's etc.....I do not agree with their philosophy at all, but they have a small bit of respect for banding together. This is something that all of us fail to do. We are too fractured to do much of anything.

The law states that govt cannot hinder a persons right to bear arms. We should all rally to this, but each individual can decide what they feel is right for themselves. Is the general populace not intelligent enough to figure out that once the govt takes one type, they will come after others ????

We are the self defeating collective of arms owners. Sad, but fact...and they know this. Divide and conquer 101...

This is the defeatist attitude the OP is talking about.

Defeatist?? Dude.. it's happening whether you like it or not. It's not a defeatist attitude if theres nothing u can do to stop it. A defeatist attitude would be if there was something I could do to change it. I'm not defeated because no matter what they do in washington, it wont affect me and those like me. I'm going to keep doing what I do and having what I have. Plain and simple. I cant "will" their disregard for the constitution away. I can only show them MY oath to it.

Drinking? Sure! BYOB or whatever you prefer. Targets? If someone opens their farm up or something I’m game. Steel and challenge targets like playing cards clays at distance etc. fire extinguisher? Meh, we got the FD.

Your first few words are the crux of the matter...2A is framed in the context of a militia which was a collection of people. Much of the arguments against 2A is its applicability to the individual. Not a lawyer so I may have it wrong as well but I have read this many times. SCOTUS won't hear any cases relative to the applicability of 2A at an individual level

Anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong

It's really simple. It was simple language of the time. It confounds many lawyers, because there is no "angle" to shoot.
    Simple like this:
"A well-balanced breakfast being necessary to the start of a healthy day, the right of the people to keep and eat food shall not be infringed"

If one argues to regulate bacon(you don't need it) then you start to see the picture. Surely limiting how many eggs you have is reasonable....it's for your own good.
    Get the picture?
