Why no aluminum block in some stocks?

I just got a Manners T5 in and it's love at first grip. I knew there was no block before buying, and I know about the pricey mini chassis, but why don't some stock makers include an aluminum bedding block like came with my factory HS Prec or my old B&C? Is devcon really going to be as rigid as a chunk of aluminum?

The chassis isn't pricey considering you're getting Badger's M5 bottom metal and a 5-round mag outta the deal. I think it's more personal preference anymore between chassis and traditional bedding....I've not seen any literature specifically saying one is considerably better than the other. I have a McMillian that is devcon bedded and a Manner's mini-chassis..it's a toss up for me. ;)

Ya, I guess considering the bottom metal and mag, but I've already got several savage mags and one aftermarket 10rd mag, so I'm kind of committed. Definitely have to consider paying $40-50 for the devcon putty and release agent and the time and effort.

There's a guy on here that you made a deal with in the classifieds that's trying to get his money or whatever it was that you sold him. Sorry for the hijack

Ya, that was dealt with in such a poor way. It has been completely resolved. It turned out to be a smear campaign in my eyes since I was never notified of the post until several days afterward when a mod sent it to me. I thought we were still in communication.

Good. Just wanted to pass that along. Again sorry for the post hijack. Cheers

Whats wrong with glass bedding? NOTHING! I wouldnt hesitate to put a barreled action in bedding compound. Benchrest does it all the time. Go for it if its what your budget will allow.
