If I'm FL resizing and have no issues with bolt closure, why would I want to shoulder bump?
I've read some folks saying it's always a good practice, but it seems to me that your only over working the brass if it's not needed to chamber a round.
School me.

what's your sized shoulder measurement? What is your chamber measurement?

It’s fine to FL size. It just over works the brass. If you load for the same chamber it’s easier on brass to FL size and adjust die to bump shoulder back just enough to barely fir in chamber. That’s what is being referred to as bumping the shoulder.

Sizing the brass minimally back down to the same size results in more consistent ammo.

Also, you may (you will at some point) be able to chamber a round and then have trouble to extract.

Same idea as waiting for accuracy to fall off before cleaning. If you clean, it never falls off. If you size, you never have issues.

And again, it’s more consistent.

I got away from full length sizing dies. I always seem to get better neck concentricity by bumping my shoulders with a body die and sizing my necks separately with a Lee Collet Die.
