When I was stationed in Frankfurt from '82-'84, had a little 4x4 p/u that I brought over. Use to know a couple of Nationals (drinking buds), that had land/farms, that would allow me to tour their nature trails. Wild bore warning signs posted all over the place, even in Gov. owned forests.
