Suppressors will a 223 suppressor work with a 22lr?

will a 223 suppressor work with a 22lr? i know this may be a silly question, i figure its all good but i dont know for sure.
Im getting ready to order one , a threaded one or a a2 cage one any reasonable ones out their???

There are a few user serviceable .223 options out there like shark and Liberty constitution. In general I prefer the option of being able to clean all the residue after running 22lr. I'm sure others have more experience than I.

As a suppressor enthusiast I cannot justify using my centerfire cans on rimfire hosts. The carbon buildup can and will eventually be a huge problem for you.

Of course it will. If the bullet will safely pass through the can, you can use that caliber in that can WITH ONE LIMIT: pressure. Obviously the converse is not true, e.g. 223 through a 22.

You will experience lead and carbon buildup in your centerfire can, but that can be removed with an ultrasonic cleaner, using popular chemical mixes, etc. Or you can mostly blow it out with high pressure rounds afterward.

Or you can get a can like the HTG Aris, which comes apart for user service like the others mentioned in previous posts.

Yup...it will work...but your can will lead up. If it's servicable (you can take it apart) or you are willing to send it in to the manufacturer for cleaning...have at it. Otherwise, a dedicated servicable can for .22LR is highly recommended.

I put well over 10,000 rounds through a sealed aluminum 22lr suppressor before it was totally plugged. For reference, the can was 11 oz when it went to the manufacturer for guts replacement and came back 2.5 oz. This is an extreme example of what is being discussed here.
When you foul a centerfire can with a few hundred shots of 22lr, you can get most of the buildup out just by shooting the "correct" calibers through the can. 100%? Probably not. But neither does an hour in an ultrasonic, in my experience.
As a dealer, I would love for you to buy a dedicated can for each caliber. And you will be happier that way. But while you only have one can, you can shoot dirty rimfire through your investment and not ruin it if you take the time to maintain it.

I shoot my .22 LR through my stainless .223 can regularly. The .22 is a filthy round, so a regular cleaning is advisable. I would NOT shoot a .223 through an aluminum .22 can. Most of those are very thin-walled, small-diameter aluminum tubes.

My .223 can does a great job on the .22 LR though.. The subsonics are scary-quiet!
