All looking for help. In light of the Remington recall, thinking of getting a Timney 510 for my Remington 700 SPS Varmint. I have it sitting in a newer AICS 1.5. In searching and reading the various posts here and on other sites as well as talking with Mile High, Europtics and Accuracy Intl NA can't seem to get a consistent answer. I know the older AICS had to be inlet to allow the safety on the Timney to work properly, but in looking at pictures of those and comparing those against the one I have (see below) seems as is the newer AICS have already had the inlet done. Does this mean a Timney 510 would be a drop-in replacement...thanks

Many thanks.. Just clarifying that safety works? Second question, did you get the 510 with a long sear? In talking with Timney they are saying that is the one I need, but i see that note for the 517, but not the 510

far as i know the upgraded sear is for custom actions like the stiller tac30...me and a buddy both got the 517U models for our stillers because he was getting light primer strikes...for regular rem actions the standard timneys have always worked fine

I ordered a AICS 1.5 through Europtic few months ago and I am running a Timney 517 and did not have to inlet the stock to fit the trigger, however I was getting light primer strikes so I sent the trigger back to Timney and have the long sear installed. It's not common on a stock Remington action but according to their tech it does happen.
