Is there anyone else out there that wants some more gas block options from Adams Arms? I personally want one that's .625" so I can build a light weight piston upper without having to re-profile a heavier .750" barrel. I also want the option to purchase one that uses pins instead of pinch bolts. It would be nice to have a smooth version (like the one Spikes used for their uppers), or a .625" smooth one for a lightweight. You know what would be even better, how about a stubby version like the one briefly seen on the S&W piston rifle (it's pictured with a full size AA gas block on their site)? A stubby .625" smooth and pinned gas block, now we're talking…
I know that much of what I'm asking for exists and can be had from Spikes, S&W, Rainier, Adams Arms and Mega, but I have no interest in purchasing a pre-built upper. No offense to the companies that offer them, but they're never priced well enough for me to ignore the parts I don't want (usually the barrel or rail system). I'm also aware that Osprey and other systems will allow for the use of a .625" gas block, so don't bother mentioning it; I created this topic specifically to see if other people are interested in getting some options from AA before I start bothering them…
In case you're not aware of what I'm talking about here are some links.
Adams Arms pinned gas block
S&W short gas block
Adams Arms smooth gas block *no 1913 ra... discontinued?)
I understand that it's a pain in the ass for a company to offer the consumer options, they have increased overhead, they have to manage more SKU's, they have increased tooling costs, etc, but from where I sit it looks like Adams Arms is doing pretty well for it's self, I think they can manage it…
Most of all I just want a .625" gas block! If you also want Adams Arms to offer up some more options please list it here, so they can get an idea of what their consumers want, and hopefully start giving us some options! If you don't know what you want, but just want more options, give the topic a friendly bump, let's show them there is demand for some gas block variations.
THE PURPOSE OF THIS TOPIC is to see just how strong the demand would be for variations of the current AA gas block, and what variations AR15 users would want, so keep your replies limited to that!
This topic is a cross pollination from AR15, there is also a poll so click here.
