Rifle Scopes Will I notice any difference?

Just curious, right now I’m shooting with a Nightforce ATACR 4-16x42 on my long range hunting rifle. I plan on selling it due to my dislike of the H59 reticle, and want to replace it with another nightforce. I could upgrade to the ATACR Enhanced 5-25x56, which would be awesome but expensive. Then again I could go back with an NXS 5.5-22x56 and save about a grand. Just curious, in a hunting situation, how much difference is there in the glass quality between the ATACR and NXS? I’d love to save the money, but I’d also hate to buy a scope that disappoints me every time I go hunt. Thanks for any help.

I have owned both and the glass in the ATACR is head/shoulders above that of the 5.5-22x56 esp in lower light, dawn/dusk.

Whether that in of itself is worth the extra money is up to you.

I agree that there's a pretty good bit of difference between ATACR and NXS with regards to optical performance. I have a 4-16X42 F1 and 3.5-15X50 F1 and the 4-16 is noticeably better in terms of color, contrast, and low light performance.
