I`m asked this alot. The other day a head swat team leader ask me if he could shoot 480 Ruger ammo in his 50AE Desert Eagle. The best I have been asked, I just bought a lever action 44 mag Marlin, can`t afford that ammo but I found some 38 special ammo cheap down the road, can I shoot it? Or how about his, this man was teaching his wife how to shoot his shotgun (12ga) and couldn`t figure out why his shells fell through the barrel, he was using 410 shells. He was ex cop. What is wrong with people? Stupid I guess. Seems like nobody anymore reads any gun and/or ammo books.

While I was in the service a guy asked to use my .45 to teach his wife to shoot because my wife had commented about liking my gold cup. I made a good excuse not to, an he borrowed a buddies .38. Sure as the sun shines she shot herself in the thigh with it. Everybody was talking about how stupid she was. I asked "where he was that she could shoot herself?" Not another word was spoken about it. They walk among us.
guys, I'm telling you....the world ain't like it was when I was growing up. Gun safety and shooting was part of a young man's upbringing, but this was before computer's, game boys and video games. Sadly, the fathers don't know anything about guns, so how are they going to teach the kids?. A friend owns an indoor range where I used to help out some. He allowed police depts. to quallify there. It was an eye opener to observe their struggle just to qualify, not all of course, but some. with some, the general public were in more danger than the bad guys were. I have noticed that of late, most departments are placing more emphasis on expert gun handling. I'm afraid that by and large our country is moving further and further away from even basic knowledge of firearms as evidenced in some of the media comments and the legislature saying stupid things that prove the know absolutely nothing about what they are saying. But yet they want to rule over us!!
I had a guy ask me to hand load for his ".300 win mag" so I said I would help him out. He shows up and hands me the rifle and says " here she is", " this win mag is a one holer". I looked at it and it said .300 RUM. I said Jason this is a Rum not a win mag. He called ME the dumb ass. I laughed in his face. Long story short ... He was shooting 7mm Rum ammo threw it. Needless to say I only see him around if he sees me first
