OK so I have a pretty limited set up and no means to change it for some time.

I would like to be able to shoot with a reasonably high degree of accuracy out to at least 200 in 1/4 moon or better with both supersonic and subsonic in .308.

I have a PVS14 / DBAL A2 / Uni mount (behind optic - which just isn't gonna work for this) / helmet mount (Rhino).

What I am thinking is mounting a Pic rail scope ring at top dead center, putting the DBAL A2 on the pic rail, head mounted PVS 14 on the left eye (right eye is behind the rifle).

I am thinking since the laser will be zeroed to the rifle shooting with the left eye in this case won't be that far off.

Thoughts?

TIA

Re: Will this work?

What rifle set up you useing ?
After much field use and trial and error..

I like hard WEAPONS mounted NOD for anything past 50 yards and a 3x milspec lens.
I use the red laser and dial My 1-4NXS scope up 2moa and zero the laser to the scope and I am set with zero check AND RANGE SET for what I am doing at that time I then yank the scope and turn the unit to IR laser throw the pvs14/3xmilspec lens on and I am weapons ready out to 300 yards..

I have a mount that allows me to use a weapons mount for head mounting so I can do this with one pvs14 with weapons ring picatinny mount ..WALK in on the helmet set up on the weapon when stationary.. my set up is prototype at this time..You can run two mounts if you want I did and hated it,but it worked..

If I understand correctly you will be mounting on the ring cap or picatinny scope rail adaptor ring and useing your head mount to aim..That will be cool to 50 yards or so add a 3xmilspec pop on lens to the head mount and you can get out to 100,You can do it futher, but muscle memory wants you to use a weapons optic father than 50 yards and 3x helps to ID target,Night time 200 yards is long range on target ID..

Thats my .002 TAKE it for what its worth.

Re: Will this work?

AIAW in .308
Dovetail
4-16 Henny

This ring mounted top dead center and forward of the E turret (not sure if it fits yet and if i will have clearance for the laser) - the thinking is less divergence than a horizontal mount on the side of rifle and cheaper mount than a IMUNs.

Good luck

I don't know how well you will be able to use sub and super sonic ammo. The drop at 100 from super to sub is about 20 MOA IIRC.
