I have a Win 70 300 win mag....just pulled it out of the safe and decided to start a new project. Budget is a bit limited, but I'd like to start with the stock.
Any suggestions as to what stock to go with?
thanks for any info or suggestions....

I've looked for the same thing. Trying to find a Winny 70 L/A stock is like finding a needle in a haystack around here. Short action is not much easier either. I have been fighting over the FN project and I have a LA Winny on the way and I was going to try and slap something together then I started looking and my best bet for a good stock seems to be for McM or other quality manufacturer to just inlet me one. I know I can find a sporter barrel and stock for it easy enough to get something to shoot until I can round up a hvy barrel and a new stock from McM to drop it in Think I'm going to order a HTG, M24 conture barrel, do the long action bttm metal from CDI with DB Mags and get the tool to bend it in for 30-06 from Brownells. Sometimes a HSP Winchester varmint stock will show up in f/s section. You just have to be ready to jump on it quick.

That's right, Rob likes Manners.

Not thread hijacking but Rob, what's the wait time at Manners for inleting, quicker than McMillian?

I like McMillan too and have them as well but you already mentioned them so just giving more options. Manners wait is usually shorter than McMillan and was around 2-3 months last i heard but that all depends on demand.

I do like the manners stocks....along with McM. I have A5 on my Remmy.. This model 70 is sort of a fun project that I just decided to put together. I wasn't looking to spend that kind of money just yet.

Hopefully, I will get lucky and find someone selling one soon.
