I'm always working to find a simple way to do stuff. I found using a drop chart with 1 MPH wind works easier for me.
EX: @ 500 1 MPH = .08 Mil. with a 5 MPH wind .08 x 5 = .4 Mil

Is this how everyone else is doing it?

^^^This. If you learn the bc method you can get damn close on the wind call of pretty much any rifle by knowing the velocity, the atmospherics, and the G1 BC without the need for a ballistics calculator.

I used to tell people to shoot mil or moa, whatever they are comfortable with. Once I learned the BC method from Frank's podcast and started using it I told everyone who asked to use mils to simplify the BC method.

There are several massive threads on here about the bc method from a few years ago.
