I’m looking at going on a wolf hunt with an outfitter in the near future has anyone went and can recommend a good outfitter? Doesn’t really matter of location this will probably be a once in a lifetime trip for me and just looking for some good recommendations. Thanks!

Try a google search in Northern Ontario. I shot a big timber Wolf when I lived in Canada. They are very elusive. I lived in Canada for 38 years and only seen 3 wolves.

The one I shot was near Thunder Bay and I was deer hunting I didn’t use a outfitter. Back then there were a lot of wolves and we had problems with them coming into town and killing peoples dogs.

I used Mile High Outfitters in Idaho, wolves were everywhere, we couldn't connect. The day after I left the guide sent me video of the pack moving in about a mile from where we camped. I ended up shooting a monster cougar

Also look at Wyoming. Throughout most of the state wolves are not classified as game animals like every other state, but are classified as predators. The rules are much more lenient on shooting them there. Also, when it is fairly open you can see them better.

Sounds like it could be fun! I’d be interested in the opportunity also! If I remember correctly another member here was booking a hunt and looking for members to join him, a search might find his thread and you could pm him. I’m thinking I may do the same, now that you have mentioned it I’m interested!

I haven’t had much luck in searching I’ve spoke to a few outfitters but would rather talk to someone first hand that’s been with an outfitter. I’ve had bad luck with outfitters in the past.

Check out Kap River outfitters. Went there a few years ago.
Really nice outfitter, home cooked meals. He really does like hunting.
Keep your eyes open, wolves know your in the woods before you put you foot out of the truck. Wonderful animal.
Wolf tracks everywhere.
Well worth it, will go again in 2 years.
Beautiful country, butt ass cold. -30 is not just colder than -10 it’s a different planet
This guy got one and another older guy got one as well.
I had to leave early (had a stomach issue that came to a head), but out of the 7-8 people 4 guys saw and 2 guys connected.

I use to live in Northern Ontario and have been to Kapuskasing many times and you are right about -30 it hurts I have actually experienced -55 and it was horrible. It is nice country up there and I have seen 2 wolves on a moose that got hit by a semi they were huge.
