I thought it was my rifle but I was talking to a friend that I had sold a few boxes of Wolf match target to and he said he had about a half box of misfires. About 2 years ago when I started buying this brand I was very pleased with how well it shot. Now things are not going as well. I bought 2 bricks at the same place a few months back. One was as good as I have ever bought but the other was crap. I might have 20 or so misfires in one box of 50. This led me to think that my rifle was the problem. After stripping the bolt the rifle is back to normal so far but after another person having the same problem with the same ammo it may not have been my rifle any of the time. Have any of you experienced this from Wolf?

Re: Wolf Misfires

I have shot 2 cases of Wolf Match Extra over the last couple of years and have not had a single misfire.

What do the rims look like on the rounds you have had misfires with? Maybe post a picture of some of them.

Re: Wolf Misfires

I will try to find some to post. My friend from work said he might have some he could find for me. He also said the ones he had that worked were much louder than the others he has had.

Re: Wolf Misfires

wow dude, I shoot about a case of that stuff a month and I've not had that happen before. I've probably had that many misfires in 3 or four bricks. have you checked the lot numbers on the bricks? I'm thinking that if it's not what 168 is suggesting, that perhaps its a bad lot.

there's lot numbers on each individual box of 50 as well, maybe another test you could do to check is to purchase boxes of 50 from several different lots and see if the results prove the theory.

Sorry you had that happen, dude. Wolf's been my go-to bullet for quite a while now. If it is just a bad Lot, do you mind posting the Lot number so we can avoid this?
