Hey fellers, I'm looking for a woolen shemagh.

I like to wear one as a scarf in winter, but the cotton ones are shit in snow/rain. I know woolen ones exist because I had one that a mate got from somewhere in the middle east, but it's gone and I can't find another anywhere online, my google-fu is weak on this one

I could just wear a normal scarf but fuck it I like my dumb arab headscarf so any help on finding one?

Re: Woolen shemagh

If it is on your face you'd be better off with a high thread count / dense weave, cashmere. Alpaca is also very nice providing the vendor really cleans it - not always the case with the S. American products.

Good luck

Could you provide a specific pointer/URL? alibaba.com has a lot of things, but I was unable to identify a woolen shemagh there (or a pashmina in less screaming colors).

Tnx!

Re: Woolen shemagh

I was going to say tad but recently i noticed nearly all my favorite products are no longer available/discontinued including the merino wool shemagh\scarf. You may find it through another website if you google it.

Re: Woolen shemagh

When I did a search on alibaba, it came up with a lot of them. Only one cashmere, and a couple of wool, mostly cotton or poly. very large selection tho.
I would like to know how it is wrapped. I haven't seen a good pic or heard of a description as to the "proper" way to do it.

Re: Woolen shemagh

If you check, most of the Alibaba hits require 500 dozen or so for an order.

From what i could find the wool Shemagh are typically made of cashmere wool.

I have yet to find a source for one or two of them (of course my google foo is weak

That was pretty gay.

Re: Woolen shemagh

I don't know about the shemagh, but I can second what was said about the polartech scarves. I have a black one I got @ sierra trading post "bargain cave" for like $3. Works great in extreme cold right along side my polartec watch cap.
