I’m starting to get to the point of not remembering all of my build details on my rifles as I continue to build more. Am I just getting old, or do any of you keep a “build book”?
I just don’t remember. Round counts twists etc. Who knows. I have started taping a tag to new to me barrels so I have some idea of how much $$$ and how many rounds it supposedly has.
I keep a Field Notes book with each build. Who built it and when. What components. And all costs involved. As well as reamer / chamber specs and twist rate. Also use it as my round count tracker and a place to write down hand load recipes. I just rubber band it around the stock. If my family ever needs to liquidate them when I’m gone they will know what they are worth.

I just have notes about my builds just in case I wanna sell one and someone asks what in there. Kinda like a recipe/data books I have for my baking and reloading too
I don’t fuck around with my Ghirardelli chocolate cupcake recipe, yo.
Wasted information. When you are dead your wife and kids are going to sell whatever they don't keep to the first person with $200 in their hand. It may be just to see if you are really dead or playing dead.
