Why Gen 1 over Gen 2? I ask because I just ordered a Gen 2 in FDE for a 223 build.

I like the Gen 1s because they are heavier and shorter than the Gen 2s. I'm putting it on a MKI REPR and the UBR stock balances the rifle perfectly.
