For those of us that don't yet own this setup but are looking at it and coveting some/all of it, what are we looking at? I see a Kestrel, an iPhone, some Vortex binos, a range finder that I don't know the brand of (I have the Vortex Fury bino/range finder combo), and a sweet looking rail with little red knobs. All of this is mounted to a Leofoto ball head and what I assume is a Leofoto 364 tripod.

Sucks that all you can do is shoot to your back fence! 😜

Seriously, some stuff seems expensive until you use it. What's expensive (no matter what you paid) is stuff you can't use, no matter how good it sounded when you bought it.

Agree with that. Best $ I ever spent was on an original Terrapin rangefinder. Way better than any currently available rangefinder, but a worthless brick if it breaks. Still, best money I’ve ever spent. Ill be sad when it dies.

Ok, here is the list of stuff I bought.

I already had the kestrel weather vain, the vortex binos and sportsman mount, the range finder and mount. Just needed to make them all come together on one easy on easy off rail mount on my tripod.

I think you did just fine, if you have reason to use it.

Looks like everything is screwed to the rail? Both for legit reuse reasons, safer transport, etc. and also because it's funny to think it could be more complex: you clearly need to get arca clamps for every individual component as well.
LOL, may need to go quick clamp to a tripod leg and a longer magic arm for the wind vane to keep it level though. If whatever you are looking at is on an incline/decline you will have to re-adjust that Vs set it once when you place the tripod.

my range has a wind "flag" about half way down the long range... Nobody really knows what speeds it represents, so basically just direction. People seem to do just fine...

So when do we get saftey glasses with a camera and mic with BT and AI that just show us a HUD like you get in CoD? Keeps track of total mag count and rounds in mag. Drops a pin with distance to target and holds after ranging all targets with your paired range finder. Switching to pistol or shotgun for a 2/3 gun match? No problem! Built in AI recognizes what you are holding and switches round/shell and magazine count accordingly. All programed through an easy to use App on your phone. When you reload, just hit a button in the app or say a key phrase that your glasses can hear with the mic that already tracks your shots.
The tech sort of exists already in the face shield of the F22/F35 helmets.
Someone quick, patent that shit and sell it to Sig. Sounds like a gadget up their alley.
All for the low low price of $4,500.

have you tried like....not shooting with all that shit....and just seeing how you do.

hell, in the 1800s they were shooting out to 1000yards.....im pretty sure you can manage without sputnik on your tripod
