Jason, I do agree that Chris probably made things worse, but I have to give him credit for trying. An eloquent wordsmith he is not.
In his defense, people were making to big of a deal out of where they get all the little pins and screws. It was not a question, but rather an attack.
Chris did not think the source of these small components was a big deal and did not understand why he was being attacked over it...he just did not relay those feeling very well.
All this came about from a semi-vicious attack that the scopes were not 100% American parts. It was an issue that the haters could latch onto and use against Premier even though their favorite other brand is most likely not 100% American either.
A better response would have been something to the effect of:

The above is what Chris said, he just did it in a “less than ideal format.”
Again, I do not in any way hold Premier above reproach. I do not agree with everything they have done, but they made me a great scope and they have stood behind it.
I personally don’t think these types of attacks on any company are healthy. If you have a legitimate problem with an item or a suggestion to make it better, that is one thing. Those threads are great because innovation can come from them. But this thread is not that, it has become an attack on a company (an American company) and not on a fault with the product they sell.
All the posters that attack the in one sentence and then finish with “I don’t want to see any American company fail, I hope they survive” are a little hypocritical. If you truly think that, then don’t actively try to help them fail by adding to the dogpile.
Just the way I see it, but I could be wrong…its been known to happen.

You make a lot of good points and I agree with most of them for sure. I truly hope with all my heart that Premier is still alive and well, both for them and the shooters.
As for Chris addressing the question, I still think ignoring it would have been better than "nunya". Nunya didn't address a thing, that's like saying my 3 year old yelling at me addressed my request that he pick up his toys. It was a response, but it didn't address a thing.
As for listing suppliers, I must have missed that, I believe the question was more like "Is it true some parts come from Asia".
