I just learned this from another thread...,


That not only does Midway actually stock Countersnipers, but the 4-46 model priced at over $900 is OUT OF STOCK and expected to be back in stock tomorrow!

Does Larry know WTH he's selling to some people??!! I can't believe someone with a reputation like Potterfield and MidwayUSA would actually sell those scopes...

I wouldn't be so quick to a bash competitor that is a site sponsor. If they weren't concerned if you get the right stuff or not why do they have the Weaver 3-10x Mil-Mil or the Bushnell 3200 10x Mil-Mil? You can't fault a company for having a huge product offering. If you don't like it, then buy something else.

It's not the seller's responsibility to tell people what they're buying, as all opinions are relative. There are probably a few folks out there that swear by these scopes, so why shouldn't Midway offer them, like everybody else? It's the buyer's responsibility to choose for himself. I commend every company that does not sell those scopes. However, given all the airsofters and mall ninjas that would buy these, it makes it easy to see who at the range is a dipshit. Buyer beware. I can't hold a distributing company at fault for wanting to profit off of the ignorant. I think CounterSniper should be shut down and everyone there beaten with a fan belt, but the distributors should be allowed to capitalize.

I understand what Jay is saying. It's not that they don't care what you are getting. It's that they don't know any better. If people are buying it, they are going to sell it. Same w/every retailer. I bet there are some very optics savy folks working at midway but their opinion is not going to trump the fact there is money to be made on crappy optics. We sell alot of stuff that I wouldn't personally use and I don't recommend those products to people when they ask. Can't help the fact that people don't ask and buy the crappy stuff. As long as it sells and we make money, I'm going to sell it.

I saw a seller on ebay last week who was selling counter sniper scopes, I just went back to find it so I could post the link but it has all been removed. I remember seeing them at the shot show in 08 and they swore up and down they were made in new york.
They also had Horus Vision scopes on the same ebay seller in China.

They also sell Barska, BSA, Leapers, NC Star, and Tasco, etc. As well as USO, Nightforce, Zeiss, Premier, and S&B. Its the consumers responsibility to research before making a purchase. Midway is simply offering a large variety to choose from.

Yeah, I must agree with the idea that bad mouthing a site sponsor that gives us a monthy discount code isn't smart for one and could be a good way to lose the discount code or be banned from the Hide.

Its up to the customer/consumer to know what they are buying. One person's junk is another's treasure.

I can tell you one thing, CS scopes are clearer inside that those dang Springfield Armory things that used to be sold. I don't want a CS scope but they were clearer than a SA.

I would even bet you people had requested them because of seeing them elsewhere on the interwebs. If you run a retail business and sell what you want and not what the customer wants (regardless how ridiculous) you will someday find yourself NOT in the retail business.

now if your a specialty seller, like some of the sponsors we have and or in another market when you fill a very specific niche, the rules are a little different, but the risk is greater. If your a mass marketer like Midway there is safety in numbers, but sell them what they want, or they will just find it elsewhere.

I appreciate Midway for the small ticket items that seem to nickel and dime you to death. The fact that they carry 10 brands and versions of every little thing works to my advantage. I can order all the little things i need at once and save a lot of cash. Instead of getting one thing from this guy, one from that guy, one from a place i have never heard of. . .$150 of product and $60 worth of shipping later i have 5 different boxes showing up at my door at random times. . .been there done that.

No, Im not buying a countersnipe,. but because some F'n tard is, they get to offer myself and other knowing buyers (you) a discount code because they made $500 of selling Lary the cable Guy one shit scope THAT HE WANTED for his "sniper rifle"

I've got no issue with a business selling anything they want to make a profit.

My problem is when a business knows better, and sells something that is being falsely advertised/promoted.

SWFA doesn't sell these. Perhaps someone should ask them why they choose to ignore a product with a hefty markup and (apparently) a decent demand.

To me, it's a case of "anything for a buck" vs. integrity. There are folks out there making a profit the right way too.

If Johnny is putting something he knows nothing about on his rifle and then taking it into battle, it's his own damn fault. I don't know anyone who is going to take non-military issued gear into battle without knowing a hell of a lot about the gear.

What he said, but on the other side a shop here in Ct that has a very good reputation around here started selling CS scopes and that made me lose a little respect for them.

Im not impressed with Midway at all. It took my 3 weeks for a refund on a Rifle Basix trigger that was junk. Keep in mind I live 1 shipping day away from Midway. They messed the return up 3 times until I had to get a manager involved to get it solved.

What to you expect from them though? Doesnt he own Wheeler and Caldwell? Thats stuff is junk too.

Gentlemen, we cannot regulate morality. I see both sides to this argument. I understand retailers want to make a profit, and they should. I also understand that some here feel that knowingly selling a garbage product for a large sum of money is a morally wrong thing to do. I don't know where I stand, I have done business with Midway before, and have never had an issue with them. It is their right and their freedom to run their business as they see fit. It is also our right and our freedom as consumers to take our money and our business elsewhere if we disagree with the business practices of any company out there. I think that's where this argument should stay. Just my 2 cents...

Once again, I am willing to bet they picked up this line at the urging and request of customers. Some customers, do not want to be educated about the product they want. They believe they already know it all, and just want you to shut up and sell it to them. If you don't, someone else will.

Used to own a retail business that was specialized in purpose built high quality goods. People would come in all the time and ask me why I don't carry "brand A", usually some well advertised piece of Taiwanese made s**t. I would try to explain why that product isn't something I'm willing to sell, most would peter around it and just leave to go order it from someone else. Or they would actually try to come back at me with some lame ass "knocking the competition because they're so much better" type speech. At that point I wish I could have sold them a s**t dipped paper clip for $5000.

If these are the kind of people buying this product, there is an element of personal responsibilty there that cannot be ignored. They are indeed getting what they deserve.
