Thinking about adding this scope to my inventory. It's used and in excellent condition except for a "smugde, whatever that means" on the focus knob according to the seller. He's asking $700.

Everything that I have ever heard about the Sightron SIII series is that they track great and the glass is very nice. Many BR shooters use them. Great value it would seem. I just wished that they offered a reticle that was more for LR tactical shooting, but the FCH is not terrible if you are dialing dope. Some may actually prefer it.

I like the sightron SIII series scopes. I have had no issues with mine and it tracks perfect. I have the Mil-dot reticle on mine so I don't know what else you would want for LR tactical shooting?

    Hey Santo,

I think the smudges are usually from other people drooling on them at the range. The SIII is a nice scope - have a couple of friends who have them and they are very happy with them. I almost bought one for my LTR but went with a Viper after deciding the SIII was just a bit out of my price range for that particular application.

I've had mine for about a year now and shot several long range or tactical matches with it out to 850 yards. The glass is great for an $800 scope, even dialed up to 32 power which I do frequently. Tracking has been very reliable and always goes back to zero. I would not hesitate to buy another one.

My friend just bought one of these. Pretty nice, however, 32x is a huge challenge for any glass. Usually, we dial it back to about 24x for a nicer picture, so you may want to look at a 24x instead.

I looked at the pictures of the scope. The smudge was a pretty serious indentation on the parallax knob. I looked to me it was made when as a result of dropping the scope. Price was fixed so i'll pass.
Thanks again to all who replied.

I would prefer a reticle like the Vortex Razor, Night Force NP-R2, etc. Dots are not my bag
