if it is clone correct than way is the barreled action painted ? should it not be black oxided instead ? just wondering
Beeeecause Marine Snipers didn't paint their rifles. I'd be more concerned if the barrel was lathed smooth. I doubt it as all the parts look to be correct save for the trigger...not easy to get your hands on a MK24.
Former jarhead 8541 here. We paint the shit out of our rifles.
It is black oxided, then I painted over it. I never expected to sell this rifle, so I didn't care about painting it and the "resale," it is just what we did. It also has Moleskin on the cheekpiece similar to the photo Chingon posted above, that was commonly done to help your face from sliding on the cheekpiece when sweaty. The Moleskin gets changed out as needed.

I don't know how one can look at the photos and not see an M40A5 clone. If you want to beat to death that it might not be 100%, okay fine, but 99% of clones are not 100%. That's a bad ass rifle. I know because I own one.
as a former Optics QC in the USMC weapons/optics warehouse, not a single rifle nor scope came back "unpainted" we had triwall's full of these scopes....
