Is the wait still almost a year before getting a serial number to use the cert with?

I waited 8 months for my SN. Purchased 338 end of September 2020, then both serial number created and form 3 approved in early may and can arrived at my FFL in late may.

I purchased directly from TB early January 2021. They said it was estimated end of September to early November for the SN. So fairly close to your lead time if I receive it in October.
