Big Piney Sportsman’s Club in Houston, MO will hold its third Steel Tactical Match on Sunday, December 15th, 2013 at 9AM.

We have refined two more stages to make it an even better competition, and more appealing to the novice and expert shooter alike.

We think these changes will make our Steel Tactical Match a fantastic event, and should allow all shooters to finish by 2PM, for those of you who have to drive a long way.

There will be nine total stages, testing a variety of long range skills from 100 to 700 yards. There are timed and untimed stages, a variety of shooting positions and barricades. Bolt and gas guns are all welcome.

Entry fee is $20. Homemade lunch is $5. Water, beverages, and toilet facilities are available on site.

Approximately 40 rounds will be required for the main match and 20-30 rounds if you want to compete in all the side matches.

.30 caliber max, 3100 fps muzzle velocity speed limit, no steel or steel core ammo (m855, Russian ammo, etc.)

Sorry you can't make this one. Keep us in mind, we will have a monthly long range match through the winter....Steel Tactical on January 19th, Paper Tactical February 23rd, and Multi-Range F-Class on March 23rd. Rain or shine, we will shoot.

We continue to refine the stages of this match to provide the best challenge and training for all levels of experience.

We moved the three targets for the cutout barricade stage (otherwise known as 'the bitch') in to 250 yards. This will allow more hits for the new guys as they learn to stabilize themselves on the barricade. It will also bring the small 6" x 8" target into play for the experts (it had seen almost no use previously) to keep it challenging for our 'PRS-level' shooters. I think all of you will like it.

The 'Know Your Limits (Steel)' stage targets were moved a bit closer as well, and a fourth target was added. You will now have the choice of shooting off of a wooden table (stable platform), or the ever-popular barrel (unstable platform). It will be double points if you use the unstable platform....your choice!
