My buddy and I went out Sunday to fill our goat tags. We found a couple old battle worn studs to take out of the herd.
The antelope bucks were chasing does hard all day, which made taking a shot difficult! they didn't want to stand still for to long.

I shot my buck at 701 yards with my new LongRifles Inc 300wm, had to get first blood with it. He was only 14" tall but had 7" bases and carried his mass all the way up, green scored 81 5/8"

In this pic I put a red circle around the truck from where I took the shot.

This is a better pic of his horns and the amount of mass he has, his teeth were worn to the gums.

Mike's buck was an old stud too, we had him at 75yds but decided that was too easy so we drove to the top of a bluff looking over the hay field and decided 530yds was good enough. He made a perfect shot splitting the heart in two pieces with a Berger 190gr from his 300wm. Haven't scored his yet but probably pushing 80" too.

    Thanks fellas,
Skinny it's a beefy sucker that tracks great, just as clear as my Nightforce and Zeiss. The push button locking turret takes some getting used to, my next will be the new Mark6 3-18x44 which has a more ergonomic turret and lighter weight. I did figure out that I'm not a Horus guy, next one will be a TMR. I guess turning turrets for me is muscle memory.
But all in all I'm impressed and don't regret it, it just has it's niche applications.

Thanks guys, I've been pretty lucky my last 4 out of 6 antelope have been Boone and Crocket(80"+) all on public land. Lance if your thinking about a DIY western hunt, antelope is a great way to start. Lots of animals and lots of public land to hunt.
Long Range Newbie I'll be turning this guy into maple breakfast sausage.

I wish i could do a hunting trip for goats, I got screwed on a bear hunt in canada a few years ago and wont spend money on hunting trips again other than out my back door. went to shineing tree ca hunt was paid in full and the asshole wouldnt let me hunt because my partner didnt show up. over 2k down the drain in 3 days!!!!

Didn't realize the Internet police was on patrol. If it makes you feel better the truck is on a unmaintained farm two track, that would be standing corn behind the truck.

Congrats to you and your bud, Wyfox! Great animals and great shots to bring em down. I really like the skull pic of your buck, that is some great mass on that ole boy. I have taken 8 pronghorns from your great state; they are some beautiful animals indeed...probably one of the best looking mounts as far as game animals go.
