Sorry if this is somewhere else, but I've searched both on SH and Google for about a half hour and can't find any information about adjusting the NEW (2009 and later) X-Mark Pro trigger. I know there is the screw on the trigger itself that can be turned counterclockwise to reduce trigger pull.

My two questions are:
1. Can I back out this trigger weight adjustment screw completely and just set it aside in my parts box and shoot without it for the lowest trigger weight?

2. Is there any other means by which I can adjust the trigger for a lighter pull weight such as done on previous Remington trigger designs?

Thanks in advance

Yes, you can take it out.

Yes, it is still internally adjustable. It does have an internal weight screw. Research first before, so you know what you are doing.

Thanks. Just pulled the middle screw filled with epoxy out two turns and removed the exterior adjustment screw out completely and now have around a 1.5 lb trigger pull. A lot of people hate on this trigger, but I think it's great.

Keep shooting, if the weight is consistent, you are good to go. If the weight start to creep, then get rid of it. I replaced mine after adjusted many times and once a while it still creep up on me, so I got a Timney and problem solved, shoot much better, and no more worries if the next trigger pull has the same weight as the last one.

Re: X-Mark Pro trigger weight adjustment

I looked for this 3 days ago and google has a ton of stuff on it..

But anyways I just tried doing mine and no matter how far you get it out you wont get below 3lbs. Just buy another trigger thats what im going to do. I had faith it could be adjusted to 2 1/2 but it doesnt come any where past 3 lbs..

That's because you need to take the barreled action apart from the stock. At the front of the trigger on the new xmark pro's theres a small 1/16" allen screw thats filled in with some type of rubbery epoxy, Remove the epoxy with a sewing needle or the wrench itself because its relatively soft and turn it counterclockwise about 1-2 turns. Remove the screw that can adjust the trigger weight with the stock attached completely from the trigger shoe. Viola, you now can get a trigger pull probably down to 1 lb. Make sure to slam the bolt and drop check to see if its safe.

Re: X-Mark Pro trigger weight adjustment

Make sure you slam test it, etc. I got mine low enough, but the weight was inconsistent, which drove me nuts. 1 trigger pull in 10 that is a full pound heavier than your muscle memory is used to throws a shot off a bit.

Re: X-Mark Pro trigger weight adjustment

If it's the X Mark adjustable, you can get a replacement spring from Ernie the gunsmith (erniethegunsmith.com) that allows adjustment through significantly lower range of trigger pull weight. I ordered one for mine, and it's a piece of cake.

I had mine adjusted at 2.75lbs, after several hundred rounds I felt the trigger become inconsistent. I found out the pull weight was anywhere between 2.75lbs and 5lbs. I had a new x-mark pro installed set at 3.5lbs and I have not had the same issues, but only time will tell.

Re: X-Mark Pro trigger weight adjustment

Sorry to threadjack but, can it be replaced with the older 700 version? I use one already and it is very nice but, am getting a LTR and after reading, the X trigger seems lacking in comparison.
