x50 Thermal Eye L3

Let me get The bad out of the way.. they Eat batterys,Must use Lithiam..They are slow to power up,Must leave them on in the heat of the Moment Dont have time to wait to repower to relocate or look for the Kill after the shot..Did i mention these eat batterys ?
Screen calibrates ever so often and freezes frame for a second,This kinda sucks,But its normal..
Resalution is not Hi,The Image screen is not large,But these work Dam good for Finding targets..They are doing what I wanted them to do perfectly..

Tonight I scanned a Field useing Gen3 NVD's that had plenty of ambient light,I saw Cow's Horse's geese,But I didnt see two yotes at 150 yards in an Open field,There Coats blended with the ancle to knee high grass,When I scaned the cows and horses just to see them with thermal I paned pass them to cover the field in a sweep and saw two heat signatures I didnt see with NVD's to my suprise..Moved To my NVD's and targeted that location and saw shadowy Ghostly critters/predators come and Go,To IR illumination and It didnt help much they still blended with the Grass I ajusted the Luna IR beam to a smaller size and it helped ID the targets, squeek...squeek...On my caller, they turned to look and I could see there eye's and they where young coyote's..Targeted the laser on the body mass and I shot the closest target,WHOP! rold into a flooded creek kicking ,moved to target 2 and still looking at me,SEND IT...WHOP Ran a few feet and Fell!

Thermal X50 isnt the APACHEE gunship quality image,But It will find targets that you may never know where there with NVD's doing normal scans ...

Re: X50 THERMAL EYE

I have a Raytheon MX-1 thermal, I think it is the same thing as an X-50, maybe a little more powerful on the detection end. I have noticed the same complaints that you have, but the damn thing works great at seeing hot things. The other night I picked up 3 deer in the brush behind my mailbox at 125 yards, but even with Gen 3 NV, and illuminator I could not see them.

Re: X50 THERMAL EYE

I think the MX-1 is the same as the X150 which I cant tell what the diffrence is between the x1500 or the x200? any one whith more knowledge please let us Know..

We saw 3 deer 60 yards in a wooded eria in day light,we couldnt make out but one Deer for a second with mark1 eye balls,But I didnt see great detail,But I could ID it was 3 deer with the x50...

I spoke with a fellow last night that has mounted a 2.5" screen on the back useing the 1/4" hole with a braket in the bottom of an X150,He said the quality of Imgae is realy much better than he ever expected..I will be looking into this mod soon.

3:00 AM the hummiduty cool temp's or whatever mixture was going on made the X50 look impresive,Had lots of background temp diffrence's which gave it better resalution and detale than I have experianced yet,If it was like this all the time I would be realy happy.ENVIROMENTAL Conditions realy play a hudge roll in the perfromance of the X50,But It has shown a Good heat source even when the conditions blend the background into a Blain grey Image..
I am ordering another one for my Boy..
