Hey guys, I’ve never owned a chassis but I’m
getting kinda pumped about trying one on a Rem 700..Mostly prone shooting/occasional match..Could I get some pros/cons on these babies..Trust me, I’ve been researching XLR,KRG,MPA,AI,Mcree etc... but these are the two chassis I always come back to.. I do like the amount of free real estate ahead of the XLR’s magwell, plus it looks really comfortable.. I’m looking at the late model AX, not the pre-2014- thanks

Get behind both chassis systems if you can.
I really like the XLR systems. Kyle and crew are smart folks and they put a lot of thought into their products. XLR is made in Colorado.
AI have a great reputation.
I went with and XLR- What sealed it for me was cost, weight and comfort.

I have the late model AX chassis and have been considering going to the XLR just for the weight. I'm very satisfies with the comfort, adjustability, and ascetics of the AICS, but I need to start shedding some weight from my system. It also helps that it's cheaper.

I have the XLR Carbon, after having an X-Ray. I like the ergo's a little better than the X-Ray, but could see why other's would prefer the KRG. The KRG seems lighter to me though. The buttstock on the XLR is the heavy part. I can't imagine how much more the AI would be (never held one), that suckers gotta be a boat anchor if it's more than the XLR though.

i have an XLR and love it.....the one gripe i do have is with the cheek riser......its too large of a radius for my face....it feels like im trying to get a cheek weld on a soda bottle......personally ide prefer if it was more narrow/ squared off so i could really get a solid weld on my cheek bone.

not a huge deal, just a minor gripe.

now that being said......i would still buy another one in a heart beat.

You can always just run the chassis and swap to buttstock you prefer with a cheek piece that better fits ya too.

I run AX, very happy with them, tried a lot, quality and functionality is top notch, but you pay a little more for the brand name IMO...agree with other though on fit and aesthetics, buy what you like, they all work great for the most part

I was looking into the XLR Carbon as well for the lighter weight. When looking at the company's website it appears you can attach a picatinny rail in the twelve o'clock position but when I asked other members that we're selling on the site, they told me there was not a cut out or place to attach a rail for night vision. The members were selling older XLR's. Does anyone know if XLR has added a place on the Carbon handguard for NV attachment on newer models?

You can add Mlok rails to the newer ones. There are slots on the top of the handguard. They are using Faxon handguards at this point.

Even the older models can have rails added, it's just using a different install.
