XLR Envy (it's here)

That's cool. I'm not a chassis guy but I may try one, one of these days. Seems pretty light for what it is and I REALLY like the integrated Arca-Swiss plate for mounting on a tripod! It's a pretty affordable stock also - I paid more than that for McMillan stocks and $855 for a folding stock chassis system seems cheap, to me.

I disagree. It is $220 less than the MPA. It has all the bells and whistles for a competition stock and XLR is a fantastic company. I only wish it came out sooner...

+1 it's less than other stocks with similar features. The ARCA rail is only available on one other stock, the MPA. $740 is out the door with a buttstock. The only things cheaper would be a KRG X Ray, Magpul H700, etc. and it's not the same feature set. XLR has the Element to go after that market.

AI chassis are over 1k, MPA starts around $900, KRG W3 is well over 1k...this is a full featured competition stock for under 750.

no tikka inlet, errrrrrrrr.

I'm sure they will add a Tikka inlet sooner or later, all their other chassis have a Tikka inlet

As for the company, XLR is by far one of the best run companies out there. Absolutely top notch customer service and patient, friendly staff, all of em'. I always like to give em' props when I get the chance!

And XLR is a top notch company to deal with....not that the others aren't, but they are not some fly by night new outfit...they stand 100% behind their stuff.

actually, they are on the lower end of the cost spectrum....been rocking my evolution for almost six years...love the envy.

They will add other inlets as they go. They have one of the most complete inlet libraries I've seen. This is just the first run and by far the most prevalent inlet is a Remington/Clone inlet.

Once they're done with the first run I'm sure they'll start taking orders for savage, Tikka, etc.

IMO, this new chassis was designed to compete with the MDT LSS-XL as they both have similar features, but I could be completely wrong. But 35oz is simply too heavy for me.

2lbs is too heavy for you?! There, there, little fella... I'll carry it for you. Decked out with a stock and folder it's still under 4lbs. For reference a Manners T4a is 4.2...thats no folder, mini chassis, bedding, etc.

35oz is not too heavy for me, but when you add action, barrel, scope, etc. it adds up. So I will not buy a chassis or stock that is heavier than 30 oz. Overall I try to keep the entire rifle weight under 7.5 pounds.

Most are running between about 12-20lbs...so 7.5 is pretty dainty, no offense.

Very well said. I have 2 elements and this just builds on that winning chassis. Cost is very affordable and the crew as XLR is top notch to say the least. Currently giving the Tactical AR stock a run on my gas gun build, it is a winner by the feel.

I see there's a Bubble Level built into the chassis. I thought Scott McRee had a patent on this idea.

From the McRee website: "All G10's include our patented "Cant Indicator" US PATENT #9,170,067"

What chassis can you use that will keep you under 7.5 pounds overall. I'd like to use a chassis for a build that would keep me less that 7.5 pounds so I'm interested in what you used, if you have such a setup?

I'm not sure that's a patentable feature and all they'd have to do is make a slight modification to how the incorporate it to avoid a patent infringement.

bumping this, curious if anyone has the new envy chassis and how they like it so far? I haven't read much negative feedback on any of XLR's chassis systems, so I would expect much of the same with the envy.

I’ve had mine for a few months now an love it! I upgraded from a KRG x-ray. I’m not the most experienced long range shooter or know everything about stocks and chassis but you can’t go wrong with this. It has everything you need and it’s was well thought out imo.
