XLR Stock on AR

My primary concern is getting the cheek piece low enough. Has anyone tried this or would it even work?

I would use the JP AR-10 silent captured recoil spring with it.

It'll work. Lancer Systems in using an XLR with the carbon fiber cheek riser on their new .308 semi-auto offering (in addition to their new super-duper upper/lower set, .308 mags, comp and a Bartlein match barrel). Do you have an AR with an XLR stock? I do and I can't use their cheek riser with it. In fact when XLR was going to come up with a solution for me they ended up making a smooth custom clamping piece that didn't have attachments for the cheek riser. Also if you look at the video, the riser is non-adjustable and basically flat against the buffer tube clamp. And the riser sits pretty far back in the video which makes me think they did this because the riser still interferes with the charging handle even at its lowest.

It will not work with the cheekpiece. It actually doesn't really work without the cheekpiece either. The attachment clamp on the buffer tube interferes with the charging handle. You can set it far back enough so it doesn't interfere which it looks like Lancer did.

I think I will wait until a dedicated adjustable stock comes out. I did not like the PRS. Ill keep my ACS for a while.

What exactly are you intending to do with this? How do you mount and interface with the gun? Is the cheekpiece a requirement? Do you need an adjustable height cheekpiece?

The Lancer type setup could work if you don't shoot nose to charging handle like some prefer.

No, I don't shoot NTCH. IMO, that is a dated technique. I shoot all my rifles like precision rifles with a normal LOP and cheek weld. I would like a little higher cheek piece but its not a necessity. Basically, I liked the look of the XLR Tactical stock due to the way it adjusted, the weight, and how it would ride on a rear bag.

Well if that's the case, the XLR "could" work. If you're going with the Tactical stock, I'd recommend using it with the standard ambidextrous cheek riser and flipping it around to face the other way so the longer side of the cheek riser is towards you. If you look at XLR's website for pics you'll get what I mean. I actually have the Tactical on my AR, but XLR machined a custom smooth attachment clamp for me that doesn't make use of the cheek riser.

I dropped one on my mega set to try a Xlr tactical. I couldn't get it to adj to where I like it for comfort.

I ended up getting a moe fixed rifle stock for the build.

Thanks, thats what I was thinking. It was just an idea after looking at the XLR stock.
My ACS is working great for me so far, ill keep it until I see a need to upgrade.

Honestly, I ended up liking my XLR Tactical more for form than function. It just looks awesome. The only thing that I actually love about my XLR Tactical (besides the look) is that it uses a pistol buffer tube which has a QD sling point in the rear. For stocks, I am really liking my Mags EFX-A1 and the Magpul MOE Rifle Stock. However, you seem pretty happy with the ACS so I'm not sure why you'd want to switch at this point either.
