There's a bunch of "delayed" stuff going on with shipping right now. I suspect like everyone else, they are short on help. I've never seen anything like this. Literally everyone who works for me is majorly short on help, and apparently everyone else is too. What I want to know is how are all of these people who aren't working paying their bills???

About a year ago I had a package delayed by fed ex because of a "train derailment" in the same place. I wonder if that's just the standard response when they fuck up and shipping is affected.

Train derailment, weather, Covid….. you name it. It’s all about applying blame to some intity outside of UPS so they don’t have to refund the shipping cost. That’s why I asked if they told you where the derailment actually was.

I always have to add 2 days to whatever the original stated delivery date is around here. At least I know where to set my expectations and at least they are 100% 2 days late every time. I guess I can be happy it’s consistent.

So much ups stuff goes by train, it’s pretty standard for it to go that way. In the last national contract the union and mgt agreed to pull more stuff off the trains and put it on the road to protect the drivers jobs, and we are seeing that happen now. This contract ends July 31 of ‘23, so I wouldn’t have pkgs in the system that week. The only time we will strike is if they won’t reach an agreement on a national contract. Both sides are currently drawing lines in the sand and Sabre rattling.

I hope you get your package soon. In the meantime I'd like to ask you how you got the detailed Shipment Progress log. This used to be readily available for any UPS shipment, but a year or two ago they just went to a very vague description of the shipment progress. I have tried clicking on every option available on the tracking site, but can never seem to find the page you have displayed here that shows the package at every point as it moves through the system. How did you access this?
    Thanks

It actually showed up today in one piece. As far as tracking details it might be because I have the My Choice account that costs about $15-20 a year.

Thanks. I sort of figured it might be a feature of having an account, vs just being a generic recipient. That info has always been available for EVERY shipment until recently, but they have gone dark on details since COVID came along.
