Your Eclipse Experience

Drove from Chicago to Hopkinsville, KY to see the eclipse at the Casey Jones Distillery. Drive down was easy, but the drive back took over 11 hours. Knew that traffic was going to suck, but it was well worth it! The eclipse was one of the coolest things I've ever seen and I can't wait for the next one in 2024!

Great view from here

Here's some of the pics I took on Monday. Drove from Shreveport to Paducah, and back with no traffic problems, other than a combine slowing us down in Kentucky for about two miles.

I've seen one before, I was out of path of totality both times I think, but close. Being directly under it and seeing the shadow move across the landscape is amazing --I bet watching it on the sea would be best so you could see more of the shadow.

Most amazing things I've seen have all been in nature: eclipses, raining frogs and fish, comets and superbolides, fire lighting, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. Still haven't witnessed a volcano or earthquake first hand but with this massive volcano in the back yard I figure I can live without that.

Nice shots.

Very Nice!

It's obvious that being in the 100% zone was worth seeing. Anywhere else was just hype and airtime sales.

Thanks guys.

Yes Lash, I've seen a partial before, and watching this one was cool. But the cool factor increases expontially when it goes total. No matter how cool people tell you it is, it's cooler than that. It was worth seeing, and if you have the opportunity to see the next one, don't miss it.
