Middle 'Merica!
What's your favorite range/plinking .308 ammo that is commercially made, brass cased, and NOT a bi-metal jacket, but a copper jacketed FMJ. I enjoy shooting the very best commercial match grade ammo but it gets pricey. I'd like to get my per round expense down under .60 or even .50 cents a round if possible. And, NOT BERDAN primed. I like to sell the once fired brass to help offset cost.

Best results? Least expensive? Those are the two extremes I guess.

Thanks.

IMI 147, IMI 168.

This brass reloads nicely once the primer crimp is removed.

I've shot both in my 24" Savage 11VT, and it likes this stuff. My PSA PA10 is due in on Monday, and I plan on trying her out with this, too.

The reviews include comments about excessive cartridge length (168's...); but SGAmmo did get IMI to shorten the rounds, so that may be a non-issue.

If I find this issue, I will reseat shorter.

This special sale may be the leftover longer rounds, but I'm not overly concerned because I handload and can reseat the bullets deeper.

Some good old hirtenberger austrian Surplus. Accurate, reliable, and quite inexpensive. The berdan primed batches are more accurate for me than the boxer.

FGMM 168 & FGMM 175 although not FMJ sometimes goes on sale at palmettostatearmory with free shipping if you buy a case. Its been a while though since I bought from them (since reloading). Their shipping is on the slow side.

Not looking for match ammo...just decent range/plinking ammo, as per first post in the thread.

Serbian PPU works great for me, and i have been able to buy it locally.
unfortunately, sgammo doesn't ship here anymore, which limits the choices a little bit for milsurp.

I haven’t personally used any, but this definitely looks promising.

I have had pretty good luck with
Remington 308 Winchester 150 Grain Core-Lokt
for a cheaper range ammo, it does go on sale or special for cheap fairly often

not a bad price at Buds right now

$13.26

Buy up all the 168gr Aussie Outback ammo... I just bought 600 rounds of it, since it came out to 55c a round. It shoots as good as my FGMM, so why not? Yes you can get something cheaper around 50c, but the Aussie Outback using ADI brass is also much higher quality brass to resale/reload. If I had more budget, I'd probably buy another 1500 rounds of the Aussie Outback stuff and that's the only ammo I'd ever shoot, since it's only 55c and shoots sub moa.

I bought both FGMM and AO from Global Ordnance, and they have the same POI at 100 at least. I'm zeroed at 100, and can intermix them. I heard AO was a little hotter ~ 50-100 fps, but I guess at 100 yards maybe not enough to show a difference.

@Centuriator Global Ordnance is flat rate $12.95 shipping... even when I ordered 600 rounds.

+1. My LMTs love this stuff.

Also the 69gr 223 is some of the most accurate ammo I've ever shot out of an AR-across many ARs-also buy 1 get 1 free.
