So waiting at home I have a Yugo M48 with an absolutely horrendous trigger. I have a Timney Sportsman trigger for it but after some examination I'm a bit hesitant to install it when I look at how much wood I'm going to have to remove from the stock. I don't want to change the cosmetic look of the rifle, but the trigger makes it almost unshootable. Seriously, it may be the worst trigger I've ever seen. Has anyone ever installed a Timney in a Mauser stock? Can anyone verify that removing that much wood from the stock will not be detrimental to the structural integrity of the stock?

Yes, Yugo and STD. length. Taking wood out of the center of the stock won't hurt anything as far as strength. Where you will lose strength is if you hog the space you need too wide. Go carefully and you can even leave wood above the portion of the trigger that protrudes, so it doesn't look like you hacked it open.
