That brings a whole new meaning to the term 'red jacket'.

Thanks guys. Yeah I wanted to replace the polymer furniture that came on it back closer to original wood. So I grabbed two sets of handguards from Apex and refinished them, and once I did that I realized, well I cannot have a polymer grip. So I bought a block of beech from a woodworker website, traced the polymer grip(cause I liked the finger groove in it) then took it to a band saw and scroll saw then hand filed and sanded the rest of it smooth, beveled and curved

Now just get a Traditional AK stock and die it to match everything else and it will look good.

I changed all the furniture on my MAK90, going to finish converting it back to what it is supposed to be.

I think the iron is just blued not sure to be honest. I have not done anything to the iron, left it the way I got it.

Yeah the Yugo's are traditional as a underfold, that was the only way they made these.

Yeah the MAK's are nice, most first thing they want to do is remove that thumbhole sporter stock, but if that is the original configuration back in the day, that is the best route. I guess like any gun that gets hacked up, 30 years later its hard to find one that has not been

Yep. Have you looked for an afforable Yugo AK lately?
Romania AK's are a dime a dozen, or Saiga. Believe it or not, and trust me I was last person too care, people really search hard for a specific AK manufacture/model.

They also made a straight wood stock version, before this one. Several, actually.

The MAK 90 was actually a Type 56 assault rifle (Chinese AK)which they hacked up when they put a thumb-hole stock on , and ground the bayonet lugs for easy import reasons. Ironwood makes type 56 stocks for Mak-90's. So technically I took it back to what it should have been.
