Zeiss customer service is good

good to know. I have lost a fair bit of range on my Ziess lrf and considered sending it in. It is not new, but worth a shot.
When I was researching what RF binoculars to buy reports of Zeiss customer service is what pushed me to buy them. Leica got poor reviews.

On a side note the new case shouted up today. About 3 weeks before they said

Awesome to hear this. I just picked up a set of the 10x42 Victory RF and that was my concern (customer service). I’m happy to hear they took care of you and it puts me at ease for any future problems I may incur.

The strap on the case for my 10x45 victory rf broke after years of daily use. Zeiss sent me a new case free of charge.

was it within 5 years? They have a no-fault warranty for 5 years. After that, they will charge you full price. The eye cups (plastic threaded portion) on my conquest HD binos are known to crack over time without any kind of impact. First set cracked after about 4.5yrs, Zeiss replaced them, and those broke again within a couple years...outside the original 5 years. So, it’s going to cost about $50 to fix a knowingly defective piece. I love the binos, but the Vortex warranty sure is appealing for stuff like that.

Zeiss used to be pretty good. Rather than repair items, they just swapped them out. Send in an original Conquest scope for repairs and see what happens. Anyhow, when I sent my Zeiss 8X45 LR binos in for repairs (under warranty) they were shipped back to Germany and it took months upon months. When I sent my Leica 8X42 Geovids to Leica for refurbishing it took a fraction of the time.

My personal experience with Zeiss.

I purchased an old, and I mean real old (early 1970's made in "West Germany" Zeiss 2.5-10x52 Diavari ZA T* scope off the internet. There have been a group 10 of these old scopes for sale. They all were thoroughly used hunting and such. They had scratches and wear but the glass appeared in excellent shape. Well, I waited for two years until there were only 2 left. I offered the seller a low ball price. When I received the scope, I removed the elevation turret cap and found the adjustment knob was broken, as half of it was missing. When I looked through the tube the glass was looked great, but it appeared there was dust inside the tube. The adjustment knobs were also hard to turn.

I call Zeiss in West Virginia and asked a sweet old lady if they might be able to help me out and service the scope. She advised me that they were not allowed to touch those old scopes. They would have to send it to them fellers in Europe to have a look at it. I asked how long would it take? She figured about 2-3 month cuz those folks in Europe were kinda slow. I mailed to scope to her in WV. 3 months later I received the scope entirely refurbished and working slick as a whistle to include a new elevation turret knob. Zeiss never asked me for one red cent and/or a receipt or warranty card. They even shipped it back to me for free. The scope has functioned wonderfully ever since.

Awesome experience. Sold me right then and there. Years later when I was looking for a pair of rang finding binoculars, I never hesitated. I purchased Zeiss. Take care of your customer and they will take care of you. Still have them many years later. Thank You Zeiss
