Hey guys, I've been doing more reading on the zeiss diavaris and I've heard that there has been discrepancies with some people when they order these scopes expecting tactical/target type turrets and they get hunting turrets instead. I don't know if this is an old issue, but it's been said that you had to clarify exactly what turrets you want when ordering in order to get the kind you want. Have any of you diavari owners had this kind of experience? I am very strongly considering purchasing one (most likely a 6-24x) and I just want to make sure I get the scope I want. Also, how are the turrets in general? Do they track well and have audible clicks? I've only read good things about these scopes, I'd just like to learn as much as I can before I pull the trigger on one.

Re: Zeiss Diavari turret question

they are fine, except they have .5cm adjustments, but worse, the numbers on the turrets indicate number of clicks, not mils so they are a pita to use for tac comps

Re: Zeiss Diavari turret question

As far as I have been able to tell, the new turrets have 1/4 MOA adjustments. I know they have gone from having .05 mil adjustments to .1 mils, and now they are having 1/4 MOA. That's what I've gathered from the zeiss site anyway, it could have been a typo...

Re: Zeiss Diavari turret question

If they are now. 1 mil and the numbers on the turrets indicate mils not clicks, then you have a nightforce sfp on steroids

Re: Zeiss Diavari turret question

Sort of a large Question really,

Diavaria scopes were at one time mostly capped hunting turrets,
and 1 cm ~.1 mRad adjusted,

the large 6-26x56 and 72 in the civi line were .5cm ~.05mRad adjusted and as noted, not mil marked but marked per each ten klicks,

the adjustements are great, nice smoothis clicks that are not to hard and very audiable without being loud.

Added to this there has always been a line of low BCD-turreted scopes with bdc turrets by order or by a few standardised loads, nice if one shoots but one load in a rather standard location.

The new line of diavaria the Diavaria FL are lift to dial then realese, ie locked target turrets, the 4-16x50 is rather attractive,

they are all 1 cm ~.1mRad adjusted, even the big ones,

http://www.zeiss.de/sportsoptics

As far as to what Ccoker states, I am almost certain that there never have been any of the high line Zeiss made with MOA adjustements,

the conquest line, the one Ziess.de the german site does not even post up might be MOA-adjusted.

Even the "other" budget line, the Duralyt are 1 cm adjusted at 100 meter ~.1mRad.

Still in summary,

know the model and then you will know what dials/turrets it has, the conquest line and Dyralyt line is sort of deceptive, the caps look like turrets but are not, unless one buys the largest conquest, then that model has real turrets,

further more the conquest line are 1 inch tubes, all but one modell a 3-12x56 that is a true 30 mm tube.

Confusing, you bet, so stay ahead in the game, know your models.

Re: Zeiss Diavari turret question

Thanks for the responses guys. I've been looking mainly at the zeiss victory diavari 6-24x56T*FL or 6-24x72T*FL, I'm still trying to decide which objective size but that is a different question altogether. Everything I have read from the zeiss site and from eurooptic, the adjustments for these scopes are 1/4 MOA. I don't know if this is a very new update, but both sites agree. What do you think?

Re: Zeiss Diavari turret question

Have you thought about calling Zeiss directly?
Toll free call. Just sayin'

I have owned a few of the older ones and they were all .5cm adjustments.
The new ones I have seen with the new turret design are indeed 1/4.

I´ll second Hutch here, old ones are good, new ones, 1/4 Moa adjusted, well that just plain ....... .

Re: Zeiss Diavari turret question

Made a call to Alex at Eurooptic and he got me sorted out. As for the 1/4 moa adjustments, I don't mind as I'm not real attached to either system, but I understand that for you guys in Europe it is pretty annoying especially since the system was originally in mils. Thanks again everyone for all your input!
