Trying to do a fair amount of research before I buy so I figured I’d come ask y’all.
Use: long range with potential of some PRS competitions.
Rifle: Howa HCR in 6.5 Creedmoor
Price range: Up to 1.5k

So I was able to put my hands on both of these today. Honestly I was extremely impressed with both. The ZMOAI-T20 and the MOAR reticles are exactly what I’m looking for.
The NF is 5-20x56 and the Zeiss is 6-24x50. Both of which are usable but honestly is wish the NF went a little higher.

Im not really sure which way to lean so any feedback or experience would be great!

Both of these scopes are second focal plane with MOA reticles and adjustments

HARD PASS

Both have zero stop
Both have same travel
Both have excellent tracking
Both have very good glass, IMO zeiss is a little brighter.
Zeiss is lighter and has more zoom
Zeiss has a windage locking turret
Nightforce has better exit pupil
Nightforce focus has more range 25-infinity vs 50-infinity
Illumination IMO i s better on the zeiss
Zeiss has a wider field of view

I was between the v4 and an shv f1 for a hunting build.

Once I saw both in person, I was wondering what the heck zeiss was thinking with the plastic windage knob and turret. Btw the shv f1 is a great scope, little right in the eyebox.

My shv has much better glass to my eye than the 4-16 v4 I had. I really wanted to like it because the turrets were great and it checked several boxes for me. I ended up sending it back after a couple of days of comparing it to my other scopes. My friend had the same experience with the v4 6-24. Neither of us are glass snobs.

Yeah except its not plastic, at least I know my v4's arent.
You might be talking about the older zeiss v4 without an exposed windage knob and a plastic cap
Didn’t know they changed it. When I was looking it was a plastic cap and a turret under it that resembled something you would see on a 20 dollar tasco

yeah, Zeiss has introduced a new v4 as of this summer.

I've got the SHV 4-14x50 F1. I used it all weed hunting whitetails.

I hunt from a blind, buts about a 3/4 mile jaunt from where we sleep.

On day 5, I noticed that the elevation turret had gotten bumped or caught and it had moved 1/2 a MIL.

Other than that, the scope is great. I really like the illuminated reticle for the dusk and dawn periods of the day.
