I recently mounted an old Military Leupold Ultra 10XM3A on my LTR in what I believe are Seekins low rings. with the scope at the lowest adjustment it still impacts around 5" high at 100 yards. I realize this scope is intended for long distance, but shouldn't I be able to get a 100 yard zero out of it? Thanks

yes. that only gave me around 5 clicks. Aiming center chest on my body and head target the initial rounds were striking in the head. Once adjusted down as far as I could the rounds are still around 5" high. The scope has 50 clicks of adjustment up from this point. I'm not sure how many it has overall. I've been trying to look it up.

You are adjusting the scope with the turret off right? With the turret on it will just hit the zero-stop detent. You should get 70-75MOA of total elevation adjustment.

yes, with it off. just went and double checked. It's bottomed out. I counted 74 clicks up from where it is. I just had not twisted hard enough earlier when I stopped at 50. Given this is a scope from military use that has been knocked around at a police department for several years. Glass still looks good though.

kujo,

The original M3A 10x40mm scopes were made with 20 MOA cant built in them for use on a Leupold 0 MOA base . If your using it mounted on a TPS 20 MOA base, you have introduced a total cant of 40 MOA.

That may well be your problem.
