Campers

Wife and I have been discussing getting a camper a lot lately. I know someone posted recently about wanting to live in one full time, but this goes the other way. Basically a toy to get out and go camping with/tow to the hunt camp/club for the weekend.

Something we can easily tow, stay in for the weekend, then head back to the daily grind. She thinks a pop-up is the way to go, but the dang things look like they’re a PITA, and don’t look the best insulated (we’re in FL, gonna need AC). I like the hard-bodies myself. Something small and lightweight, and definitely used is the way I want to go.

Any thoughts? Recommendations

Firearms KAC SR-15 Mod 2 *Price Drop*

Friends, I have a KAC SR-15 Mod 2 with the keymod hanguard. The rifle is very lightly used, it might have 6-7 mags through it; no marks or scratches, I'd label it 99.9%. The charging handle was upgraded to a BCM Gunfighter 2. It does have the KAC sights and two-stage trigger. It also comes with a BCM fore grip.

The standard KAC hard case and manual will be included. No magazine will be included.

$3300.00, shipped to your FFL. Payment method would be pretty much most anything...I'd accept a private check if you have positive feedback and don't mind giving it a few days to "clear" accounts.

Please know your state's laws, and know if this rifle can be lawfully possessed in your state.

Zero Compromise and Tangent Theta Toughness

I keep hearing that ZCO and TT are in a tier of their own above some of the other high end scopes like the Nightforce, Kahles, Schmidt and Bender, and others. Based on everything I have heard and seen, I have no doubt that the TTs and ZCOs are nicer, have better glass, turrets, etc.

BUT, I have never heard people talk about how tough the TTs and ZCs are. I would assume they are built well and will hold up fine with regular use, but does their hefty price tag also include insane durability like say, a Nightforce, which are reputed as some of the toughest and most reliable optics around?

I guess what I'm asking is for those who have used and abused ZCO and TT, when it comes down to the wire, would you trust your ZCO or TT deep behind enemy lines with no good recourse if your optics were to fail or, at the end of the day, is your ZCO/TT just a reliable dialer with superior glass and features for use in a controlled environment?

Just curious to know since I am looking at buying a ZCO and or Tangent and I don't baby my scopes at all, especially when hunting and I really really hate when equipment fails in the field.

ROGUE SPECIAL OPERATIONS TEAM EXITS AFGHANISTAN

Anyone else have any additional intel on this?

ROGUE SPECIAL OPERATIONS TEAM EXITS AFGHANISTAN
The rogue group of retired vets and contractors exited Afghanistan in the early morning hours of Thursday September 23rd with the aid of a French special forces unit stationed in Mali.
The rogue group of men who had caused multiple headaches for the Taliban , and the Biden administration as they came to the rescue of U.S. citizens left behind by the Biden administration to fend for themselves against Taliban hunting teams, who mercilessly went door to door killing anyone with any involvement to the U.S. troops prior to their overnight withdrawal of Afghanistan, made a hasty exit Thursday after a firefight broke out, and several hundred Taliban fighters surrounded their position just outside kabul.
The special operations team left the United States on the eve of August 31st with 11 men intent on rescuing the nephew of a sitting U.S senator, And once their mission was complete, stayed after witnessing the death squads of Taliban fighters murdering U.S. and Afghan citizens. And seeing just how many U.S. citizens had been abandoned by the Biden administration.
In the first few days the team had lost 2 men in combat and 1 seriously injured , but continued to press on to save as many people as they could , and get them to safe houses inside Pakistan. The 8 remaining men continued to attack multiple Taliban outposts and patrols during the day , and extracting U.S. and Afghan citizens by night.
In the early morning hours of Tuesday September 21st their success came to an abrupt end as the Taliban learned their position and closed in on them , surrounding the men and attacking them. The team leader used a secure satellite link to call for help from French special forces, but help was more then 24 hours away, leaving the men to fight for their lives until help could arrive.
The rogue operations team successfully held their position against insurmountable odds for a period of 36 hours, but not before losing 3 more team members to the Taliban fighters and injuring the remaining 5.
French special forces arrived early Thursday morning to find the men closely together protecting their lost teammates and each other ,and almost out of ammunition. The French team of 28 men quickly moved to evacuate the rogue operations team by using a smoke and mirrors tactic along with cover fire from 2 black hawk helicopters. All 8 men were evacuated to a safe zone inside Pakistan where the 5 wounded and battered men were immediately treated and the 3 lost men were properly prepared for travel.
A French special forces commander reported to the associated press Thursday that although wounded the U.S. special operations team members that made it , were wounded, tired and battered ,but otherwise in stable condition and all 5 remaining men were expected to make full recoveries. He was quoted as saying " These men are some of the greatest warriors i have ever had the pleasure to meet, they should all be proud of what they accomplished, and I am proud to have been able to help them make it home to tell their stories of victory in the face of defeat."
The French commander reported about 200 Taliban fighters within 1500 yards of the men when they passed overhead to their position, and every man there was prepared to fight to the end. Some of the men were down to handguns and hand held weapons, and had made their peace with God and each other moments before we arrived. The first words the U.S. team leader spoke to me was " we will carry our own off this field , just (expletive) cover us."
The rogue operations team has now been credited with saving 72 U.S. citizens, the nephew of a U.S. senator and roughly 200 Afghan citizens. They are expected to arrive in France sometime early Friday morning September 24th and begin their journey back to the United States.

The Dawg is on the hunt....LMAO

Say what you want ( I don't care ) about him, but this shit's funny.

WTF is wrong with contractors?

Ok, so I got my patio built about 2 months ago, driveways cleaned but the dude had the pressure way too high and basically pressure washed the top coat off. I’ve done it myself several times and never had this issue. Ok fine it is what it is, no way to fix it really. Two weeks later grass guy comes and gets ironite all over the clean drive in the rain so guess what that lead to? Rust spots everywhere on the drive I just cleaned. Then hired a guy to clean and restain my deck. Said hey don’t pressure wash the patio cause it’s new and I don’t need you blowing all the kinetic sand out! What do they do? They pressure wash the patio too harsh and blow the sand out. So that dude now has to come back. And to add insult to injury thr dude got oil all over my driveway as well. WTF? So I give up. I guess I’m not supposed to have nice stuff.

Help with M1903

Hello all,

My girlfriend was recently gifted her grandfather's m1903 03-a3 that he was issued during the korean war. The stock/barrel are missing and we were given a box of parts. Does anyone know of a good resource for finding the small parts/pins etc and have any advice for restoring this firearm? I have some tools from working on modern bolt action rifles. Thank you in advance.

Lighter weight but top tier glass scope?

While I wait for ZCO to hopefully release something that fits my criteria, what should I be looking at for glass near the same quality but in a lighter weight package? I’m building a lightweight rifle (relative), about 6.7lbs without optics or suppressor. As much as I’d love to toss my ZCO 420 on it, I’d prefer to add less weight.

I am looking for something at least 16 power, preferably 20+. Shorter (13” or less) is preferred, and I’d like weight to be no more than 30oz or so (mid 20s would be amazing).

The real problem is I’m spoiled by these high end scopes, so I’m looking for high quality optics. The March 4.5-28x52 was on my radar (I was recently lent one, and will update with a review of that scope in another thread), but I really want locking turrets.

Is there anything out there that fits the bill?

[Edit: FFP only, SFP and I don’t get along.]

SOLD WTS: Leupold Mk4 Spotting scope with Badger SLICK

For sale:

Leupold Mk4 Spotting scope with Badger SLICK system. Spotter was purchased from a member here and came with paperwork from Leupold indicating it had been sent in for maintenance in July. It has the Gen II Mil Dot reticle. Glass is very clear and the scope functions 100%. The SLICK kit was also purchased used and has been painted. It DOES NOT include the long forward rail that you would mount a NV unit on. You would have to contact Badger to see if you can get that rail separately. I’m asking $850 shipped and insured SOLD

I accept discreet PayPal (F&F or you cover fees) or Venmo. Thanks for looking.
