Issues bumping back the shoulder on brass

I ran into a strange situation today and wanted to get feedback from the horde on what could be causing the issue. Here's the situation. I am working on a load for my 6.5 Grendel. This is what happened.
I started with 50, four time fired Hornady cases. All the cases were fired from the same AR. Using the Hornady LNL progressive press, I de-capped the case. Then I bumped the shoulders back to my standard 1.208" measurement. And that's where things got interesting.

Of the 50 cases, 31 came out at 1.208 +/- 0.001". However, 19 of the cases had a headspace/shoulder measurement of 1.212 or greater, up to 1.214. And even when I ran them back through the Hornady sizing die, the shoulder measurement did not change. I took another few cases, from another group, fired from the same gun, not the original 50, and those five all bumped back to 1.208 with no issue.

I'm baffled. Any assistance or ideas would be helpful. Truth is, I can discard the cases and move on with the 31 I need for load development, however I am curious to what could be causing the issue with these cases.

TIA

Not that Ukraine is any better

The old combloc is a pox on the earth

As is china, India, etc

Need like a giant grinder and processor to render all them into fuel

Honestly in that war if I was a Russian I’d rather dress in civilian clothes, you’d probably last longer

Though there is some sound logic to using tampons, there was a medical thing a few years back that basically injected expanding sponge things into bullet wounds

MPA Chassis

I ordered an MPA chassis back in March and paid up front ($1575.00). At the time they stated max delivery time was 18 weeks. I never contacted them and waited patiently for 18 weeks. I was expecting a delivery of the chassis anytime back in July. They instead send me this email.

"We have decided to discontinue the Gun Candy Finish. I do apologize for this inconvenience but we strive to make our customers happy and send out the highest quality product we can. We are not satisfied with the quality and durability the Gun Candy finish leaves. Although the color looks great, slight imperfections are amplified and the overall quality of the appearance is just not up to our standards. We recognize the desire to offer amazing looking colors for distinct appearances, so we have added more custom cerakote colors to our website for you to choose from. I have copied the link below. Again, I do apologize for the inconvenience but we do feel the outcome will be much better. Let me know your thoughts and which color option will be the best alternative".

I told them my thoughts, which is I want what I already paid for and why did they wait to the 18 week mark to notify me?

So essentially they had not even processesed my order after 18 weeks ( I paid over $1500 upfront). I told them I was not happy and they said they are working on resolution with gun candy colors and it might take a few weeks. Was I willing to wait. Well Im now at 26 weeks and only received communication after I reached out to ask the status. Now they're telling me my choice is to either cancel the order, get an unpainted chassis or send it out for paint or pick an alternate basic color.

I do not buy their claim about the coatings. They are looking for ways to speed up the production process and dont want to take the time to do the job right. We all know their business is booming and they keep increasing their lead times. Their priority is volume and not the customer. What should have happened is they complete the original order, take the time to paint the chassis correctly, send me the order. Going forward for new orders they should cancel offering Gun Candy.

I highly recommend staying far away from buying MPA chassis and definetly do not pay them upfront. If you do order from them, do not pay upfront, expect longer than stated wait times, and expect little to no communication.

Burning trees is the green thing to do

I thought we were supposed to plant trees to soak up all of the evil CO2. Now “bio-energy” is the new green? Someone should tell them fools in CA that backyard fire pits are back in fashion.

Desantis and Ian

Not wanting to bring politics to the hurricane thread.

This is going to be the Desantis make or break moment. The PRAVDA and the communist party are sharks drooling just off the gulf coast. You know that they have been testing their talking points and headlines for anything they can use to take him down. If he has any political future he better watch what he says and anything that could be bad optics. George Bush took a flight to survey the damage of Katrina and they destroyed him with that.
The potato was calling mayor's from the largest cities yesterday and was ignoring him. Someone must have remembered that he's supposed to be the uniter and the democraps were going to get spanked if they put politics over the wellbeing of Floridians. It is a toss up state after all so he called Desantis late yesterday evening.

+ Celia Langelius RIP

She passed away quietly in her sleep at 9:30PM last night from hepatic failure. She had been dealing with it for about three years, but had hospitalized herself a week ago Friday. Saturday night, she became incoherent, and we were told this was it. We signed a DNR Monday, pursuant to her wishes, at a meeting with hospital staff that had been originally called to move her to a Nursing home. She was 72.

Our family is here, and they have most of the situation in hand; I'm doing the things that only I can do.

We shared 52 years of a wonderful marriage; one Daughter, Jen, three Grandkids, Elena, Patrick, and Kayce.

Please pray for her, and for us.

Republicans Play Checkers While Democrats Play Chess: Attack on Electoral College

This legislation can't be good. McConnell endorses it. So that raises a red flag right there along with nine other RINOs.

The one thing that the article points out is language in the Bill that "prevent state officials from submitting electoral votes that do not align with the popular vote in a state."

I looked up the text of the bill and it doesn't have those exact words. However, in section 104 of the bill it spells out the duties of the "executive" of each state.

NEWS FLASH! There are major problems with outlining the duties of the "executive" of each state. Look at Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution. It says in part:

Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.

No where in there or anywhere else in the Constitution does it say anything about the duties of the "executive" of the state. This is another way for the democrats to cede power to leftists governors in blue states than might flip to red on election day.

Another problem with the bill is in Section 102. It states in part:

"The electors of President and Vice President shall be appointed, in each State, on election day, in accordance with the laws of the State enacted prior to election day.”

Remember what Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution says. If it looks like there were major improprieties on election day, the state legislature can throw out the results of the election and substitute electors as they see fit AND the governor can do nothing about it.

Some people may not like that but go with the letter of the constitution.

From the article, Ted Cruz said;

"This bill is all about Donald J. Trump, and in our lifetimes, no one has driven Democrats in this body more out of their minds than President Trump,”

Lizard Cheney has introduced her own bill in the house. That looks like another parting shot at Donald Trump.

Firearms Tac Ops Used Rifles

Just a respectful heads-up People I have had a handful of calls asking about Tac Ops rifles for sale here over the past few years. A few of you unfortunately bought a used Tac Ops that was completely shot out even though the seller stated it had 300 to 400 rounds through it. I keep a very good log on any first-time buyer (s) over the past 30 years. I have had to repair a few rifles for guys that got fked over by the sellers that had no integrity. If anyone is looking to purchase a Tac Ops rifle here, please contact me first with the serial number and I'll let you know the back story of the rifle and when I built it. I will also let you know telephonically ( I will not post their names here ) who not to buy from as I know there MO.
I am also happy to look at the rifle before you purchase it and give you a complete evaluation in writing if you pay the shipping to my shop...

I thank you all in advance for taking the time to read this...

Trued MV not even close to Chrono?

Is it common to have a very large difference in trued MV and Chronoed velocity when you really push velocity?

I have been shooting 122gr Cayuga's from my 6.5 SS at 3390fps average from 20 shots measured with my labradar. I shot data verification out to 750 and to get my curve to match my kestrel needs to be at 3140fps.

I don't really care as long as I'm getting hits in different conditions and DAs. So far it seems to line up.

My slower stuff matches pretty decently, just my high velocity loads and cartridges seem to have large velocity gaps.
