5/25/2022 Charleston, West Virginia graduation party would-be mass shooter SHOT DEAD by woman with CCW handgun.

CHARLESTON, WEST VIRGINIA. MAY 25, 2022

A felon with an extensive criminal history, Dennis Butler, pulled an AR-15 rifle out of his car and began firing indiscriminately into a crowded graduation party in front of an apartment complex when a local woman drew her concealed carry handgun and shot Butler dead, preventing a slaughter from taking place. An hour earlier, Butler had driven at high speeds around the area and was warned by event organizers to stop speeding at the crowded venue. People of all ages, including young children, were present at the graduation party. Butler later returned to the scene and began to shoot into the crowd when the watchful and alert bystander drew her own weapon and neutralized the threat immediately. Butler was pronounced dead on scene by emergency personnel. Nobody else was struck by Butler's gunfire.

How in FUCK ... ?!

How in FUCK does an officer first on scene in a school shooting NOT go in to stop the carnage?! Why the fuck even be on the job if you don't have the capacity to be the tip of the spear? THESE ARE CHILDREN- if you have to, disobey direct orders and man the fuck up, or go be an insurance investigator.

It's time to end Affirmative Action hires, time to repeal democrat policies that intentionally cause decay of society, and time to take our republic back from the administrative sheep.

On average the best source for LEOs is former and current active duty U.S. military with MOS in close combat- I suggest they be our main recruiting focus.

Rant off.

talk me out of an AT-X....or not

So am currently down sizing to one rifle, My vision is building or buying a QC barrel rifle as a dedicated platform I can shoot different SA calibers from like 6.5CM, 6CM and probably .223. My first thought is a Terminus Zeus, hear a lot of good things about these and I like the fact that theres proof pre fits available to just buy off the shelf so it would be really easy to buy the action and a few barrels and off we go, the problem with this at the moment is availability. Another option am looking at but not too sure of is a Curtis Valor that from all I hear and read is almost identical to the Zeus, issue is that it doesn't have the same ease of pre fit support, I mean I know many places make pre fits on order for these but am really looking for off the shelf availability, I have been told that Zeus pre fits are compatible with the Valor but I still haven't been able to verify it. Also not a lot of reviews out there for the Valor.

This brings me to the AI AT-X. I have zero experience with AI and I know theres a whole thread here about feeding and accessory support issues, nevertheless the rifle is interesting. MHS has some red ones in stock and theres a couple of members selling some so they're available but the question is what does the AI offer over the options mentioned above? My style of shooting is prone or bench target shooting with my 6.5cm and local PRS style matches with my 6cm so I need one thing that's comfortable in both areas. I like the idea of a fully custom rifle that I can pick and choose components, for example the trigger, I absolutely love the TT 2S triggers and I know this is an unfair comparison but how does the AI comp trigger compare? everything AI is just much more expensive is it really worth the extra cash?

I know theres the QC systems out there like the Desert Tech and the HIT and perhaps some others but at this particular time I am only interested in these 3. What do you guys think?

Tikka vs nucleus gen 2 actions

Looking to start collecting parts for my next build. Between a 22br and 6br for prs matches. I’m currently running a bighorn tl2 6br and a tikka 223. I much prefer the tikka over the bighorn. Shorter bolt throw and smoother action.

How does the nucleus compare to the tikka actions as far as bolt lift, ease of binding, smoothness of action?

My only complaint on the tikka is I really like a 2 stage trigger at or slightly below 1# which has me looking at other options. I would like to stick with actions under 90*. Considering terminus as well and have played with one and really liked it but not sure if it’s worth double another tikka action.

anywhere but china scope

Some companies, like the Leupold, Swarovski and Khales make it perfectly clear where their scopes are made. Many other companies either don’t reveal it or it’s hidden down in the fine print on page 37. And then some scope makers make some of their scopes in the Philippines, some from Japan, and some others come from China. But when I look at the websites I can’t really tell which ones come from where.

I’m looking for a low powered variable optic like everybody wants these days from a one power to ?? I just want to make sure that I buy something that was not made in communist china.

All I have is two identical BCM 16 inch 5.56 carbines. (One is about 13 years old, the other is only a couple years old.) I have used plain iron sights to shoot expert out to 300 in the army. When we got the Trijicon TA31F ACOG, that was very easy, even with only fixed 4x and (Oh no, Mr. Bill!) 1 1/2 inch eye relief. Right now one of my rifles has an Eotech EXPS2 and the other one has an Aimpoint T2, so neither one of them has any magnification as it stands and I’m ok out to about 250. After that, small targets are difficult. I would like enough magnification for 400 to 500 yards/meters (Let’s not argue about the metric system.)

So, bottom line at the bottom: Is there a list that I haven’t been able to find with the search function of which scope companies, and perhaps even which models within their lines, are made anywhere other than China?

Sad day guys, an old friend was killed when his garden tractor fell on him

He was a good friend and Lineman for 47 years and a safety instructor with perfect record and yet inexplicably he jacked up the front end of a 1100 pound tractor with a belly mower under a tree and tied it off with a nylon rope. While apparently clearing grass or something jammed under the mower the rope broke and it fell killing him instantly. I’m just speechless…

Movie Theater Maverick

Just got back from seeing this. Of course it's Hollywooded up, but I enjoyed it. It was slower than I expected. Lots of references to the original, with a little bit of a surprise ending. So is it technically correct, I don't know, I've been away from that game a long time, but it was an enjoyable movie and a good date night for me and the Ms.

Optics WTS: Vortex Fury 5000 AB Rangefinding Binoculars 10x42

$1000 shipped, paid through PayPal F&F

As shown in the pictures, these are technically new but I have to list them as LNIB because I did purchase them. As shown in the image, the seal was not broken until I decided to take pictures. These things have never been used, never abused, and come with everything from factory still wrapped in their factory plastic. All papers are still inside, and the bino’s have absolutely zero marks on them. Just trying to fund a MCX

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me

Does this look "unfired" to you?

I very recently, somewhat unintentionally, won a GB auction for a purportedly unfired HK MR556A1. I was debating whether to keep it and pulled the bolt for the first time. It looks like there might be brass on the bolt, which would undercut the idea the gun is unfired. I'm not trying to be paranoid or a stickler, but if it has been fired I at a minimum don't want to misrepresent it if I try to sell it. I've included a photo below. I'd appreciate any feedback as to whether I am seeing things or if it is indicia of having been fired. (It is of course possible it was only fired at the factory, but that wasn't what I was told.)
