Is this a problem? (scope gap)

Hi all. As per title and attached image - is this something which could cause damage?

Rifle is a Christensen MPR (.308) with an Ultrashort mounted in MDT Elite (med. 1") rings. The OEM objective lens cap is just touching the (free-floating) CF handguard but is still able to be turned fairly easily (90 degrees to the right in photo) and has a little bit of give. The mounts/rings are tightened all the way down + pushed forwards, this wasn't a problem.

I've heard conflicting opinions.

Thanks.

The official Dick pics for @BCP thread

As per a bet I lost against @BCP , I have to post some dick pics. I spent at least an hour experimenting with lighting, angles, hairstyles, distance and prosthetics, and then significant time afterwards curating my collection of art, only to read the rules of this forum and my interpretation of them leads me to believe that my penis isn't welcome here. So as a substitute/apology to BCP, I've selected a random assortment of dicks, some both literally and figuratively, for his enjoyment. Feel free to add your own dicks.

300 blackout bolt gun

Would like to pick your collective brain on 300 blk bolt guns. I will be buying a 30 cal suppressor and would like to have a 300 blk bolt gun. I would prefer Remington footprint for obvious reasons. But they are pricier than the Ruger American and the Savage Axiss II. Of the Ruger and Savage, which would be more accurate, smoother, etc. Which has better aftermarket support (triggers, stocks, etc.)

If I could find a R700 action at a reasonable price, I wouldn't mind building on it. But I'm early in my search so no rush at this time.

Thanks

SOLD Manners MCS-TCS in Gap Camo SOLD

Up for sale is a Manners MCS-TCS in Gap Camo. Has the weights for the area 419 arca rail, one butt weight, and butt spacers. This model does not have the sikes clutch. Mini chassis, so any 700 action will fit. I purchased this from a fellow hide member back in January for $1400 dollars, and I’ll let it go for SOLD dollars. It’s an awesome stock, I just am more comfortable with my matrix in matches. Will include the wiebad stock pad and the SAP two round holder. I don’t think it has double dead fill.

Accessories kthomas' Garage Sale!!!

Clearing out the gun room to help fund some new projects. Most items are lightly used or like new in condition, unless otherwise stated. Prices will include shipping.

Barreled Action:

- Defiance Rebel/GAP Crusader action, with a 1:7 twist Hawkhill MTU barrel, finished at ~24" with Crux muzzle brake. Chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor by Insite Arms. Barrel is essentially brand new, less than 200 rounds on it. Action feed ramp is slotted for feeding reliability purposes with longer reloads. $1000 $900 - SPF!

*Note: The Defiance Rebel action does have a slightly longer tennon, and recoil lug is slightly more forward than a typical R700 footprint. However, this can be made to fit most stocks and chassis with little effort.

**The lugs did previously experience some light galling, but has been rectified by local gunsmith.

Muzzle Brakes:

- Area419 Sidewinder, .30 cal aperture and threaded for 9/16x24. $120
- Epsilon VG6 556 brake, threaded 1/2x24. $60

Willing to provide pictures of any of the above items upon request.

6cm for light hunting/steel rig, input wanted!

Current components in hand:
EvoSS 2 dbm action
Mesa altitude m5, bart #4 inlet
Hawkins hunter dbm
BnA Dakota trigger

I've got an excess of 6mm bullets, so going with 6cm over 65cm. Rifle will be yotes/antelope/deer/steel gun. Likely getting a 26" bartlein #4 carbon that my smith will cut. Down to 24.5 or so.

Who's killed deer sized game with a 6creed? I've got 105hyb, 107smk, 108 elite hunter, 109 hyb, 109 eldm, 110smk, 112 match burners, and 115 dtacs. Likely leaning to the 108s, but the bc or the 110+ grain bullets at creed speeds is hard to look away from.

Next best thing to reloaded ammo

Hello Sniper community,

I'm new in the forum and have already introduced myself new shooters section. I'm going to start competing in PRS matches this summer but I'm afraid I have time and resources limitations and will not be able to hand reload. Long story short, I'm based in Spain but half of my life is in the US. In Spain I do reload (308w and 6.5CR) but in the US I don't have the time to go through the whole process and testing, finding, etc... I have a brand new BadRock Rifle in 6mm Creedmoor and I'm in the search for the best possible factory ammo. And I know there are small companies who make a hybrid between factory and handloaded, offering a better and more consistent quality than regular factory. "Choice Ammunition" is one of them.

Hornady 108 ELD Match Grade
Berger 105 Hybrid
Choice Ammunition 105 Hybrid

Right now these three are the choices I'm considering. I would appreciate a bit a help here if you have any intel on these bullets or any other bullet/maker I should also consider.

Thank you all for your time and help.

300 PRC best $40 I’ve ever spent

Back in Feb, I bought a couple RMEF raffle tickets from a neighbor at a trade show. He’s a great guy and is a sponsored BBQ champ that feeds us lunch and beers everyday of the show. I’ve never won shit in a raffle but figured it was for a good cause. Drawing was supposed to be in March, I forgot about it. I guess it got postponed. Fast forward to April and it was my bosses birthday. We lost him a little over a year ago, much too young, to a brain tumor. I’ve worked for the man since I was 17 and he was more like a father/mentor. Probably had more of an impact on who I am today than my folks. I was feeling pretty blue when I got the call that I’d won the gun. I’m not particularly religious but I think it was his way of telling me to buck the fuck up.

Took 15 hours on the road to pick up but I turned it into a work trip.

I’d spec it differently (cartridge, a better scope, TT Diamond flatty, and make it mag fed) but pretty damn good for a $40 investment. Going to love it, as is, for sentimental reasons, and try to take it on a hunt, sooner rather than later.

The builder claims they broke in the barrel, sighted it in, and worked up a load. They included 80 rounds of that load and the data. Please critique the load.

Which peice of equipment shouldni replace

I am getting more into precision reloading. I have mostly all lower end equipment. I am asking what one single peice of equipment or tool if replaced will yield me the best results.

Loading 6.5 creedmoor 140gr with h4150
Best group as per my development has been .4"

Using:
Hornady brass (already have lapua with small rifle primer pockets on hand)
Cci bench rest primers seated with a hornady hand primer tool
Measuring h4150 with a hornady auto trickler
Resizing with a hornady full length standard die
Seating with hornady standard die
Press: hornady classic single station
Trimming on a rcbs trimmer with 3 way head

I have a guess most will say match grade dies but I'm hear to learn what would be most beneficial at this point.
