Not sure where to put it but mounting scopes I finally got a decent piece of glass so figure to install I should do it right and use a torque wrench.

Side note for I'm putting .88 US optic rings with a leupold 30mm vx5hd 3-15x56 onto a 20moa rail if it matters. If this was answered elsewhere please tag me. The clearance is about 1/8 of an inch so I'll be cutting a small chunk off the bottom of my bikini.

Over the years I've collected a number of firearms. While I can supply the kids with handguns and ammo, I'm left with items like AI rifles, suppressors, and perhaps some F/A NFA stuff I think might not be wanted and/or difficult to handle. Not to mention all the reloading stuff.

I've put my financial plans pretty much in place, but am at a stumbling block here.

Before you say "send it to me", I want to shoot it more.

What say those with better plans?

Hey everyone! Tried finding a solid answer and I can’t seem to looking around. If it’s on here and I missed it, I’m sorry. Also if this is in the wrong spot to ask, I’m also sorry (I’m new here). So I bought a few Accuracy International AT rifles with a folding stock in 6.5 Creedmoor. Love them by the way, but sadly this is the second one I’m having issues with. Today when I brought my newest one out, I went to loosen the cheek riser screw on the one side, and the whole screw and threaded insert just fell right out. Being I already sent one back with a defect and is currently there, I don’t want to send this back. Is it difficult to install a new rear chassis to the folding adapter? I’d rather install a new chassis piece myself if they are willing to send it. Here’s what I’m working with. Again, If this is already out there, I’m sorry. I just can’t locate it. Help lol

My M1A seems to be underperforming. I am shooting about 4 MOA at 50 yards. That is well over my capability.
I do have rather janky ammo (was shooting my leftover PPU to get scope roughed in).
Was using a Strike Eagle 1-8X Which I suspect may be the issue. It is on the standard Basset Mount. Everything appears tight (just checked it all).
Any hints as to what else may be causing this? Standard SA M1A Loaded.

My next step is I have a Leopold I can throw on, or I can put a decent scope and check that. I shot with irons, which is a tough comparison as my eyesight is crap. But I did note that I only had verticle stringing (almost no left-right) which is typical of me shooting iron sights, rather than a well dispersed 4 MOA.

Pic is at 50 yards range. Front rest, rear bag--I am certainly capable of putting all 5 in 1 square at this distance.

Iron sights my left-right dispersion is about 2MOA with a 4-6 verticle (I can barely see the target), typical of my iron sight shooting which is why I think it may not be the rifle, but I am not super attuned to the M1A system.

Tikka t3x CTR. about 800 rounds down the pipe. Started getting issues recently with it heating up unusually after 20 rounds, POI shift as well, and groups started opening up as well.

Figured it was due time for a cleaning. Did my usual routine with hoppes, bore brush, relube, etc. Didnt make much of a difference.

Went back and picked up some SLIP 2000 carbon killer, let it soak inside and then ran bronze brushes through, and patches until patches came out clean.

I ordered a borescope out of curiosity and this is what I find in the length of the chamber:

so..did I completely miss cleaning the most important part like an idiot, or is that long line a stress fracture/crack?

The rifling/barrel after has a few streaks of copper and carbon from what I can see in the borescope but does not look anything like this

Since this is snipershide.com we will limit equipment to survival, personal defense, SHTF, combat and battle preparedness competitions or drills. If you had to kill something for food any of these tools could get the job done. You don’t know what situation you may find yourself in so here is the question. You are limited to five weapons, one from each category and a pack; (caliber, barrel length, configuration, set up, equipment, optics, ammo, brand etc.)The categories are; shotgun, sniper rifle, battle rifle, handgun, knife and pack. What are you going with?

Raven with custom stock paint and cerakot. It's like new in the box. 2800 invested in it after paint and cerakote. I thought the stock needed extra black webbing and paid to have that done from them. Trigger is the timney 510 hunter. And it is surprisingly very good. Only reason for selling is another toy. 1850 shipped. Scope and rings not included.

The gun is a 3/8 or better at 50 with sk rifle match. I have less than 3000rds on it
