SOLD Inexpensive stocks

I’ve got a few more excess stocks to move on from. All are used and/or modified in some way, so prices will reflect their condition.

1. McMillan A1/3. It has been bedded for a Remington 700. M5 inlet. Adjustable length of pull spacers. Rattle-can green/tan camo paint job. Left side flush cups. Sling studs up front. Barrel channel looks like it could handle a MTU. $325 shipped.

2. Greyboe terrain. Black with gray web. Rem 700/bdl footprint. M24 barrel channel. Small nicks in the finish on the fore end. Flush cups left side. Pic rail included. Left side of the stock near the action has been modified to fit a bolt stop screw from the previous action. $100 shipped.

3. Bell and Carlson M40 for Tikka T3/T3x. Green with black web. I relieved some material in the mag well area of the bedding block in order to use this stock with my T1x. There is some paint chipping in the barrel channel. Flush cups left side. 2 sling studs front and one rear. $100 shipped.

Night Vision What are the potential pitfalls of purchasing used NV/Thermal optics/scanners ?

What wears out on these units-do they have a certain # of hours before they need to go back to the factory to be refurbished or have certain parts replaced. I'm more concerned with the internals of the units than rechargeable batteries/battery packs.

I'm still on the bottom of the learning curve and trying to determine what the best approach is for night hunting equipment purchases.

TIA

With all the options out there... it may be next winter before I jump headfirst into night hunting. I'm of the buy once cry once type... but don't have 10-15K to drop at the moment. Most of the country I hunt is fairly wide open. Coyotes are the primary target.

Cheat Day

What does your cheat day look like? How many calories or do you just say eff it .
I slammed 3 eggs , hash browns , shit on a shingle on white toast , Chicken Fried Steak an Sausage Gravy for Lunch . Cheesesteak , fries an pizza for dinner topped off with 5 highballs and counting for dinner/night . Oh and a can O Pringles . I will burn at least 4k tomorrow with hit and lifting .
What's your cheat day ?

Rifle Scopes Nightforce Customer Service

Entirely my fault, my AR-10 fell over onto hard-packed dirt and rocks. By sacrificing itself, my Nightforce NXS 8-32 saved the rifle from any damage.

Except for a smashed sunshade, the scope looked OK. None-the-less, I sent it to Nightforce for inspection and repair (if necessary). It came back about two weeks later with a clean bill of health, a new sunshade, and no charge for the work.

It would be difficult to improve on that service, and the durability of the scope seems pretty good, also.

Cheers,
Richard

A hell of a year...

our's truly has finished a hell of a year, and it's not even going to be done until May 22nd because someone is being charged with three counts of contempt of court. Panty is no longer my 6 and I am the boss of me(well Nessie is). Basic divorce finalized February, House flooded in the basement due to a broken pipe, completed a pair of camp kwaiken's, two knee surgeries, then just as the year was closing an I thought things were going to be good, Bulleit, my 15 year old pit had a stroke and had to be put to sleep. I am a walking charlie foxtrot right now, and trying to get my shit together and get back to forging handmade blades.

The request was: Rustic looks that evoke the Hawaiian lava flow. A old Punk rock buddy from Hawaii asked, and a GI I served with in Afghanistan wanted one too. They are as stated by the customers,"Ho brah, fuckuh nasty sharp", and "Dude, this thing is nuts sharp, wow!" The choil is cut for a firestick and the scales are flat for tieing into a spear.
Im getting 308 gun barrels cut in half then into 4" segments, got a few sticks of 1095 and 52100 so a few things are in planning for the forge

Bridge collapses in Pittsburg - What timing

PITTSBURGH (WJW/AP) — At least 10 people were injured, but there were no reported fatalities after a two-lane bridge collapsed in Pittsburgh Friday morning.

The collapse comes hours before President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit the city to talk about the $1 trillion infrastructure bill that includes bridge maintenance.

I smell a frikkin potato-headed rat. The chances of this happening are frikkin ZERO.

Relief of College debt.

Mabey I am just pissy this morning, but this tugs at my taint. We didn't have a lot of money growing up. My pop was an enlisted man in the Air Force. I was one of those that joined the Army in the late 80's "open-contract" (read infantry). I didn't join for any noble reason-only to change my financial situation (it took being in the Army to teach me that). I took the college bonus and paid into the GI Bill. When I was in, I'd take compressed college classes at Ft Campbell when I was not in the field. Did my time in the Middle East, re-enlisted and went into a medical field. When I got out of the military, I used my GI bill, and would take classes while working full time. I didn't earn my PhD until I was in my 40's. No fucking debt, I payed that shit with sweat and service.

Blowing off $50K in college debt for these fuck-sticks is complete bullshit. I'm not going to get all that lost time back (family, play, hunting..etc). Moreover, I am not going to get a check for pay-back because I didn't suck welfare's tit.

Rant-off

ATF now going after the Amish

Talk about soft targets.

I wonder when they'll be going after the gangs of Chicago and L.A.? *crickets

ATF agents also seized at least one luxury horse carriage along with an assortment of hay rakes, hoes, shovels and wood working tools which could also be used as weapons. j/k

How do you say Lets Go Brandon! in Pennsylvania Dutch?

Effin Whores .

So I just showed up at Jefferson University Hospital to begin work up for surgery . I had taken a knee to the head training for a fight and broke a bone , inner ear . They removed my ear drum and both hammer bones due to cholesteatoma . Then they grafted a new ear drum .

So here years later . I want my hearing back . They are going to install a titanium single hammer bone . It's gonna suck as they will cut behind the ear , open up the inner ear and do the deed . First few days are not pleasant .

So I digress . I go to check in and they are charging for Two separate appointments . One for hearing test and one for the visit . WTF . Surprised the don't have a credit card slot for the elevator . Maybe pop quarters in the window to check in . Maybe a tool booth to leave the Mother Fuckin office . Greed at it's best .

Can't fuckin wait for the surgery bill .
